Thoughts on the new heroes.

Just some thoughts on the new heroes and whats been revealed so far, feel free to join in on the discussion or bring up your own thoughts.

1. Biv's Vibrobayonet doesn't seem worth the XP cost. Assuming this is one of his two 3 XP cards, the Bayonet seems like a poor choice. For 3 XP (the equivalent of 2 to 3 missions worth) you get a bonus to the melee portion of your initial skill. First, you have to consider that not all weapons can have an attachment (for example, the powerful T-21 has no attachment slots.) Then you have to consider that if you use this, you can't use other attachments (like the one that gives a free surge each turn.). Then theres the fact that this only works with a certain high costing skill that requires you to be in melee, already a lot of faults there. The final problem I see is that it only adds damage to a skill that is most likely already going to kill everything but the strongest of foes. Sure it'd be effective against Darth Vader or an AT-ST. But I'd wager that without it, you'd have killed a non-elite (and even some elites) just fine on the second attack. Killing an enemy on the melee portion is just a waste of stamina and possibly movement points. All in all, I probably wouldn't buy the Vibrobayonet.

2. Saska's devices. Many missions have a time limit. So far the longest time limit I've seen (besides infinite) is 8 rounds. Most of the time its something like 6 rounds. Now unless one of Saska's skill cards allows her to make more then one device a turn (which I'm predicting there is a skill allowing this.) Saska's device scheme is pretty limited. You'd have like 4-8 devices spread about on 4 heroes. The devices give multiple options making them even more multipurpose and more valuable, but this also puts a bigger strain on the limit.

I was thinking the same thing about Saska and the round limits. Most missions that I've seen with a time limit are done in 5-6 rounds. It seems to me like Saska's strength in the campaign will be directly related to how strong her class deck is, because her abilities right at mission 1 don't seem that impressive.

There is definitely a lot of cool potential though. I like the idea. If she is a powerful enough support character with class cards, I could see her being a replacement for Gideon... she'd have to have -really- good class cards though.

What's important to remember is that her devices are cheap, versatile and does not cost an action. She is fast with a speed of 5 and will probably not be needing to spend her strain on moving. I would bet that she has class cars to allow her to create more devices and pass them from a distance. Her devices are just one part of her, she also has her actions for attack and moving around grabbing objectives whihc we don't know how good she'll be at yet

Given that she can use a device to reroll an check, she should be pretty good at grabbing objectives.

My question is which ability will Saska lose when she gets wounded. Is it possible that she'll just lose the re-roll part of practical solutions? If she loses a full ability that seems like it'll be a huge disadvantage for her.
