Biv looks fun!

Will all heroes be getting class item cards, or are they only part of the new heroes decks?

My guess is, that counts as one of Biv's skill cards. So probably only the new heroes.

Both heroes look good, but Biv's deployment card isn't as tanky as I'd like it to be, and the free surge that makes Saska amazing is non-existent in skirmish. Does anyone have any good list ideas for these guys?

Saska and Boba Fett seems like maybe a combo. You can use Boba in a rebel list so that he has some more options for allies and Saska can weaken enemies to Proc Bobas unknown second ability. Regardless I'm psyched to play either in the Campaign.

EDIT: Just realised that C&P can't switch targets. This gives me some concern that Biv will just keep overkilling things, particularly with the bayonet.

Typo on Energy Shield card: "to his defense results."

This is in reference to "a figure", but for some reason she has used gendered language to describe the figure later in the sentence. Does the rule only apply to the male figures?

I hope you are joking with that question.

Saska sounds like a nice specialised support role for campaign. Having the heroes as different as possible can only increase replayability.

So unless they're adding rules for these "Devices" to appear in the Core Campaign, is Saska only useful in the new campaign? All of her abilities revolve around devices which just aren't a thing in the core campaign....

What do you mean? She creates them. She's basically the Star Wars equivalent of an Alchemist.

DOH

I must have missed that bit. I was picturing her picking up salvage during combat and crafting them into useful things for the team by picking up tokens on the map, not just pulling them out of thin air.

It sounds like you have it right that she picks up scrap and turns it into devices, just the game mechanic is the device not the scrap, so she will work in any campaign

Am I the only who thinks Biv's Vibrobayonet doesn't seem worth the XP cost? Assuming this is one of his two 3 XP cards, the Bayonet seems like a poor choice. For 3 XP (the equivalent of 2 to 3 missions worth) you get a bonus to the melee portion of your initial skill. First, you have to consider that not all weapons can have an attachment (for example, the powerful T-21 has no attachment slots.) Then you have to consider that if you use this, you can't use other attachments (like the one that gives a free surge each turn.). Then theres the fact that this only works with a certain high costing skill that requires you to be in melee, already a lot of faults there. The final problem I see is that it only adds damage to a skill that is most likely already going to kill everything but the strongest of foes. Sure it'd be effective against Darth Vader or an AT-ST. But I'd wager that without it, you'd have killed a non-elite (and even some elites) just fine on the second attack. Killing an enemy on the melee portion is just a waste of stamina and possibly movement points. All in all, I probably wouldn't buy the Vibrobayonet.

whoa... Sorry for the double post. I'm not sure how that happened.

I get the feeling they want players to play Biv like a bull. Just rushing the enemy. Sorta like Gaarkan...

Maybe Biv will be a mix between Fenn and Garararhkahan

Campaign:

I like Biv although the revealed class cards are kind of mediocre. I am hoping for some heavy weapon synergy.

Saska is quite cool, but she still has a long way to go to compete meaningfully with Gideon as support. Really hoping for a low cost class card that allows her to generate device tokens faster and/or at a greater range.

Skirmish:

Biv is pretty cool, I like him as a counter to the 14+ cost characters. I was hoping he'd be a trooper, but brawler/hunter isn't bad.

I'm not sure about Saska, 6 points is a lot for what you get.

its an auto Bleed, Pierce 1, +1 damage how is that not worth 3xp.

The main question is, is it better than spread barrel?

The bayonet is more damage but the spread barrel is much more flexible and doesn't cost 3 xp.

It also seems highyl impractical to have a vibrating bayonet on your gun, can't beed good for your accuracy.

I guess that Biv have to path just like other heroes, one of those focusing on his C&P ability. Perhaps another of his abilities is to add a mod slot to a ranged weapon?

Haha now I'm picturing the bayonet vibrating like a weedwhacker shaking his aim around.

That's probably how he got such big muscles; holding the gun steady.

I don't know, the gun is sticking in the person, it'll be pretty hard to miss when your gun is actually attaching the barrel to your target. Probably why the second attack has to target the same figure.

Pretty sure he's just a Gears of War character clone and it's his version of a chainsaw at the end of his gun.

This game has the same designer of the Gears of War board game. Which is a great, if very difficult, game. I've been thinking of homebrewing IA stats for all of the locust figures in GoW since the figures are pretty much the same quality and same base size.

I'm pretty sure he is a clone, just not of a gears of war character...
