300 pt Rebels new player help please

By moonbeam, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi,

I was thinking of running this list for my first game and would really appreciate some feedback and suggestions.Should I be using other upgrades and would it better to drop an x wing and used some named pilots? what objectives would be suitable?

Neb B Escort - Yavaris - Raymus Antillies - Nav Team

Neb Refit - Garm Bel Iblis - Salvation

Corvette CR90a - Enhanced Armament

B Wing x2

A Wing x2

X Wing x3

Comes in at 299

Cheers

I don't believe EA is worth it on the CR-90 with its teeny side arcs. When you're running that many squadrons, I think you'd be better off with another escort frigate if available (drop nav team)

otherwise, I'd drop EA to give Salvation escort status. It doesn't make sense at first, but since Salvation's bonus only applies to the front arc and there will be turns where you can't really use the title/will have license to shoot at enemy squadrons from your side arcs. Having two Escorts covering your squadrons will protect them from 3 health interceptors (which with FC and Howlrunner, roll 6 dice + a re-roll at your poor squadrons) or dice them in return.

Also personally don't find Garm to be worth it outside of double fatties. Either MM or General-D (especially with all those bombers) seem like more reasonable investments.

I prefer Raymus on the Salvation (CF extra die + re-rolls = happy fun times) and sh*tty raymus (vet captain) on Yavaris. Raymus Salvation also gets the added benefit of 3 squadron, chuncky repairs, and flinging yourself from speed 1 to 3 and vice-versa. Yavaris has a very potent ability, but she won't get to use it incredibly often without jumping through some hoops (Adar Talon combos well with her, provided he's on another ship). Given that it's five points, though, I'm not super concerned about having it fire off all the time. Just having one devastating volley can more than justify its inclusion.

Nav Team on the Neb-B is great for trying to keep the front guns pointed on your targets, The Neb's front arc is so narrow, you need all the help you can get.Garm Bel Iblis is a little iffy with no Command three ships in the list to take advantage of his sparse token disbursement. XI7 Turbolasers are a wonderful combo with the Neb-B's Salvation title. I wouldn't put Enhanced Armament on a little CR90, those side guns aren't bringing much to to the show to begin with. I'd replace it with the title Jaina's Light. It's amazing how being able to ignore the obstacles for a ship can make such a difference.

And if you can get the B wings to pay off for you, more power to you. At speed 2 every time I've tried using them my opponent has pretty much ignored them and they've been just trying to chase ships around the whole game, or tied up just when I think they're FINALLY about to see some ship action.

Objective is more of what you think you can play towards, but I would always say Intel Mission if you have at least one fast mover in your fleet. Your opponent will never choose it unless they just want to give the victory to you.

I agree with about everything IT says.

Jania's Light is my go to CR90 Title. She ignores Obstacles for movement and shooting, which is pure awesome-sauce.

Salvation loves the X17.

Yavaris loves the B-wing.

As for getting the most out of the B's, fly them at the enemy ships while your ships hook around a bit, and then close at the same time to get the Yavaris effect two or three times. Keep the X's with the B's for Escort.
