Playing first campaign with some changes, advice would be great :)

By LeighPouse, in Imperial Assault Campaign

So me and my friends will be playing our first game of the Imperial Assault Campaign this coming weekend and we are going to be making some changes to the campaign so we can get as much out of it as possible. Please tell me what you think of these changes.

* Rebels will have full access to the Side Quest Deck, allowing them to choose which Side Quests to take part in/allies to gain

* All Agenda Side Quests will be played as Forced Quests to give the Rebels a chance to block the Imperial Player from gaining an advantage, this allows the Rebels to play their maximum number of Side Quests

* The Threat Level for each mission will be increased by 1 for all missions to give the Imperial Player a bit more oomph since the rebels have an advantage choosing their Side Quests, he also starts the game with 1 bonus Influence

So what do you guys think? will the Rebels have to much of an advantage or will the Imperial Player be to OP?

(Also, first post on this forum :D )

Thanks for reading, LeighPouse

*edit*

I should also point out that the Imperial Player is an experienced Descent Overlord, I understand that the games are different but this will give him a HUGE advantage surely

The only piece of advice I would give is: Don't change any rules on your first play through. I think you need to experience the game it was meant to be played if before you go around changing things. Although, if the Rebels are getting trounced by the Imperial halfway through (ie: 0 or 1 win), maybe at that point you could consider making a change to favor the Rebels. But I don't recommend it.

I've only played through 2 full campaigns, the first one was a first time for both of us, and while mistakes were made, most missions were a close victory for whoever won it. My second campaign was with different people, but I knew the rules better. I gave the Rebels some pointers in the first 2 missions and pointed out mistakes they were making. Even though I was the more experienced player, every mission was extremely well balanced and came down to the last round (except one, but we don't talk about that).
