Speculation: Paul Heaver's next card

By Paulochromis, in X-Wing

offensive mech --> aggressive mech -> agro mech --> scum confirmed :o!

The LCG released Advanced Concussion Missiles with a green shielded tipped head. I hope that they release ordnance that bypasses shields and deals damage directly to hull.

That's a tough situation to be in. If you end up dealing 2 hull damage to a B-wing, you're still left having to punch through 5 shields to get to the last hull point. It's a bit of a gamble, I guess, because there is the possibility of destroying a ship in one shot. I'd just hate to waste something like that on the Falcon.

Surprisingly, "Agromechs" is a canonical term. It describes a droid that is more durable and utilitarian than an astromech, which generally is for use in starships.

Combined with Salvaged and Unhinged astromechs, I thought "Agromech" was, as quoted, a term FFG came up do differentiate between their different droids. Turns out it's a real thing, as well as having nothing to do with being aggressive.

Sorry if you knew that already...it is a little known fact that surprised me.

Saboteur those two damage and maybe you'll have an easy time removing the shields.

That almost makes saboteur good! Excellent job!

Plasma torps are shield-gankers in the games and EU. Those will hurt mostly B's and falcons, right? Doesn't seem his style.

Sounds like an awesome way to wipe out corran though!! Death to ewings and sycks!!

You don't need Saboteur. Let R2-D2 flip them.

Not seeing how my equipping R2-D2, astro or crew, on my firespray would flip hits to crits on my opponent's b-wing. I think saboteur would indeed be needed.

Firespray with the missile and saboteur. The Emperor in his shuttle. And Colzet with his ability and the missile for added punch. <evil laugh>

Stay on Target was a victim of the huge meta shift post wave 4. It is better now if the phantom nerf, tho PS is still high.

So long as we don't get another giant meta shift again I'm sure the card will be great :).

I could see them doing something with a sliding damage scale like Proton Rockets but instead of the damage dice being affected by the attacker's agility it scales on the number of shield tokens that the defender has at the time of the attack (with a cap). You'd end up throwing 2 dice at something with no shield tokens or 6 at something that has 4 or more shield tokens.

Wouldn't it be ironic if it was an anti-fat turret ability, given the winning list? :)

Oh and SoT is fantastic on Keyan and Tetran, not to mention fun.

I wish more pilots could make the most of it though.

Time will tell!

I thought you were suggesting using saboteur to flip the hits on a falcon to possibly make it easy to remove his shields later. I was implying that if you can have something that bypasses shields and puts a couple of damage cards on a falcon then you make using R2-D2 much more risky for that player.

In Stay on Target's defense, it seemed like a good idea at the time. :)

I thought SoT landed well above the median on the bell curve.

I also like the means to get the kind of ability that so far only comes with a named pilot in an upgrade card.

well 'now' Juno Eclipse is a similar, not quite the same. a mix of Imp Fett and SoT

EPT: That was too close!

You were almost a Jill sandwich!

The phantom stole your thunder Pheaver.

Completely true.

Yea I remember when the preview came out, a lot of people thought that card would be a gamechanger. Instead the only pilot I ever see using it is keyan, and mostly just to get a reliable stress regularly then to actually change the move.

The card is pretty solid. Much like Expert Handling, its biggest drawback is that the top-PS pilots who'd benefit from it most tend to either not want the stress that's attached, or already have higher-priority upgrades.

This is largely the problem with a lot of the Elite Talent options in general, really - there's so much demand in that slot from the handful of top-tier cards (And Veteran Instincts clogging it up for so many of the PS 7-8 aces), that the others miss out a little bit in comparison.

Hopefully Paul went for a slot slightly less clogged up for his next one. ;)

im guessing either a crew card or a new modification. these upgrades have larger potential to be used on a range of different ships and not just on high PS pilots.
