Wow ... crit tokens ...

and a 'medal token'? ...

I believe the medal token is not FFG. It is made by CogoTwo exclusively for the UK tournament.

Crit tokens are good to complete the collection but ****, they are useless and very disappointing for national championship. Couldve included them in summer kits instead

Between this, and the fact that the alt art card for attending is Luke Skywalker again, I'm almost sad that I'm shelling out thousands to get to nationals at GenCon this year. There's virtually nothing there I want except the bag, and I rate my chances of getting that slightly higher than me making Admiral in the next couple of years (literally impossible)

Perhaps that is a "who goes first" coin.

Positively underwhelming!

This is what my friend got for coming first in the UK nationals. The gold templates are cog'o'two templates, along with the medal. He also got a ticket to Worlds of course :D

After a incident during the Imdarr Alpha event in which a player almost won a match because he forgot about critical hits his ship had suffered, I now encourage players to use those critical hit tokens. It is underwhelming that they are prizes for worlds. It would have been a better prize for a season kit.

Looks cool to me. I like that bag.

I can't believe it that the alt art card is Luke. We just got a Luke card for regional last year. Ffg organized play is usually on point but I gotta say I don't understand the reasoning on this one.

They aren't useless. I use them to mark which obstacles are mine instead of running a marker along their sides.

I like to Crit tokens and REALLY hope to get the chance to win them.

And in my experience they are VERY useful, they certainly help me to remember my own Crits but just (if not more) as important: they help me to track/remeber my opponent's Crits

Even though (as mentioned above) I do like and want the Crit tokens I will agree that the price support seems a bit on the skimpy side compared to normal FFG standards. Maybe we are getting a bit spoiled. I am hoping that it might have something to do with the fact that UK Nationals are so early but on the other hand it would also seem a bit strange to have different price pools for Nationals.

Anyway, still looking forward to our Nordic Championships in August

I really dig those templates. Stormtrooper White and C3PO Gold?

I'm just a noob, but that seems pretty underwhelming.

Those for pretty underwhelming prizes

It's only 'underwhelming' because you don't like the tokens. This is the exact same prize distribution as nationals last year and almost the same as the year before that; (some token type), maneuver templates, bags, and an alt art for participation. I'll grant you that Luke is an odd choice to get a second alt art when he already has one, I guess because this one is art rather than a movie still like they're moving towards? Still seems an odd place to go. And fine, crit tokens are a bit meh. But in terms of number/variety of prizes there's nothing off the mark here.

Which means the prizes for nationals have always been underwhelming

5-118 got the Card + token, but CogOTwo have reached out to us top 16 and said they will send us some customized templates which is awesome! They also provided a ton of prizes for Epic including a Trophy! I believe they also gave some prizes for Escalation too! Great support for the community!

I'm definitely fine with the templates and critical tokens. I'm a big believer in using them so I don't mind acrylic ones. I guess I just feel like they would better off as store kit prize. The Luke is just weird.

I also would have preferred they be included in the normal OP kits. Its the only FFG acrylic token I do not have, and likely the only one I will never have unless someone wants to trade me some (I have extra Worlds AA Cards for trade... =P) or they get re-done later in an easier venue. I am simply not good enough to make a 16 cut in a 256 person tourney. It would have been nice to complete the collection of tokens. I suppose this does open the door for some later since they have rotated back to prior tokens, so maybe I'll just have to wait longer.

I do agree though, these are pretty underwhelming, even more so than usual. I am not at all disappointed X-Wing overlaps with the SWLCG tourney this year, and was the last couple of times. The card is straight up boring and the tokens, while completing the circle, aren't exactly something many people will be excited about.

I am honestly shocked the card wasn't Corran Horn.

The tokens and templates only went to top 4 in the UK. These critical tokens will be as rare as hen's teeth, there will be a total of 40 of these tokens ever for US. The templates I can see but to limit the tokens, you got me. These will most likely out perform the clear dice when they hit the bay.

How often do you actually use the crit token?

I actually use them in every game I play. It reminds me of my own and those of my opponents. It really annoys me when players don't use them. I forget them, they forget them and then a turn or 2 later it's like "Oh yeah, I forgot about that..."
