What he said was Galactic Civil War going forward. He was ruling out content from the KoTOR and Rise of the Empire eras (the prequels and before). FFG are going to do 7 stuff, that's confirmed, but we don't know how. Personally, I slightly doubt they'll just shoehorn it into any of their existing games, they'll probably make new ones.

This is pretty neat! Thanks for posting this. Here's hoping some how, we get more frequent releases then this... But I guess I prefer the quality over rushing out product.

Either way though, if your ship predictions prove correct (and I do understand they are purely fun assumptions as to the possible ships), I'll be out of the game by the start of 2017 anyways  . (Yes, the idea of prequel ships from the movies does irk me that much unfortunately. Wish I could love them more, but, I just cant...)

Punishing One next year. Well, hell...I might as well just get direct deposit with FFG since they're making such regular withdrawals from my account.

Thinking about the split timeline with some EU stuff cut out makes me cross-eyed.

They may have to finally give a definite timeline for the game to get away with adding

ships from Episode VII with support from all players.

I can understand how you would feel that it's a different era and it is, but there are ships that cross eras and the rebels had to use what they could get, so I think it fits if they have some older ships. I'm guessing you haven't see the lists of official Alliance Fleet ships.

Given that JJ Abrams is likely making this movie as an homage to Hope as much as anything... I wouldn't bet money on there being much other than a new Star Destroyer, new X-Wings, new TIE fighters, new Y-Wings, and maybe a new reb, er, resistance corvette.

Having said that... Star Wars is a franchise built on selling toys: action figures, models, LEGO sets, toy blasters and lightsabers, and now miniatures. So we might just get a bunch of ships, but they may only get brief cameos in the movie. Hell, considering how CGI guys like to throw easter eggs in, we might briefly glimpse the JJ-prise (or the USS Kelvin or Vengeance) and the Serenity. (Not that I expect either ship to play a role in the merchandizing of the film.)

In the film. It'll have plenty of TIE-in material.

After 3 years of x-wing they released a 3rd faction. So after another three years we'll see a forth?

What's the provenance of the spreadsheets?

If you mean proof of origin, then you're asking me to prove that I made it; Try and find another version anywhere else, if anyone had made anything similar I would have noticed that too.

So it's just wishlisting? Not some leak from FFG?

It's wishlisting. It can still be seen as interesting. He did pull up some ships that some of us may not have thought of.

I see most of the ships from SWG are in your list. I'd like the sorosuub yacht eventually too. And while I think the mining ship might be gigantic, I spent many hours mining asteroids in swg. So it too has a place on my table. You should swap it in for the assault gunboat.

Extrapolating the dates is useful to view the larger picture and know how late the raider really is. I hope it's updated as new releases are actually released to see how the trends continue.

What about tracking major rule changes like the previous large ship barrel roll fix, phantom fix, and predicting the dates of the upcoming turret fix, large ship boost fix, ordinance fix, and the next dock strike when their contract expires?

You should swap it in for the assault gunboat.

Them's fighting words.

There won't be 6 new epic ships and 63 new star fighters coming out in the next 7 years.

That said, speculating for the next 7 years is pretty interesting. Although FFG has already stated that their roadmap is only 12-18 months out.

My guess is the X-Wing releases are going to slow down. Especially with Armada and Imperial Assault. I'd also imagine that 100 sku's for a single product line is a retailer's worst nightmare.

Here are some things that may effect the releases:

  1. Will there be a 4th faction?
  2. Will there be a atmospheric game?
  3. Will episode 7 be folded in, along with the 2 new factions there?
  4. What ships from the anthology movies and Rebels will they use?

You should swap it in for the assault gunboat.

Sorry, but the gunboat is the obvious choice for a 101st SKU. And since there's just no room in this game for 101 ships per that other guy, the gunboat is off the list.

I haven't followed Armada, so I don't know if they adjusted their release dates because of it, but that would be a good tell if another game like an atmospheric variant would affect other release dates.

As pointed out all the ships from Episode VII as of yet could be handled withe title cards in aces packs.

I have already included Ghost and the Imperial Gozanti.

I don't get the aversion, is it that it doesn't look like a TIE fighter variant?

... they could do four ships per wave indefinitely and two Epic ships at a time that would make it much more than 6 & 63.

No, they could not.

No, they could not.

You might have missed that they have been doing four ships per wave from the beginning,

and you might have also missed the announcement of the Rebel Medium Transport and CR90 Corvette at about the same time.

Huge Ships

(Announced August 20, 2013 / Released April 30, 2014)

(Announced August 20, 2013 / Released May 22, 2014)

(Announced December 19, 2014 / Scheduled for Q2 2015)

If I redid the chart to follow FFG's single announcement double release pattern I'd have to add a lot more Epic ships to the chart.

I could give you a chart demonstrating my existence for the past few decades. Does that mean I'll continue to live indefinitely?

As usual you're going to act like a niggle because in a tired state I used the word indefinitely instead of the phrase "for the foreseeable future". Pathetically petty as usual (Here are some more words you can take issue with).... synonyms: trivial, trifling, minor, small, unimportant, insignificant, inconsequential, inconsiderable, negligible, paltry, footling, pettifogging; informal piffling, piddling, fiddling; de minimis

Well, you are an ork, so....

Right. I might get bigger, or turn a darker shade of green. Or, like a normal adult human being, I might be able to observe a pattern without naturally assuming that it will continue into perpetuity.

It's not your choice of words, it's the fact that you think you can derive anything meaningful from such a limited set of data. It doesn't matter if your predications range for 7 years or 107, the conclusion is still flawed.
