Has anyone seen any dual Firespray options actually competing with top lists? And what were they?

I feel like rec spec fights EU. And EU would be better served with VI. Then maybe swapping gunner and rec spec.
I am a heavy empire player but always shied away from the Firespray.

ur list looks solid. maybe think about tactician over recon specialist or even rebel captive but recon is still solid as ur firespray has improved defense (theoretically is u can roll eyes on defense).how about
switching gunner on Krassis for recon specialist? 2 xtra points could be a seismic charge on boba

And some other stuff I can't recall (above comes to 91 points)
I'm particularly impressed with the K4 and expert handling combo on the firesprays.
Interesting list.i will have to give that go! Not experienced enough to take it to regionals with me though. I need to learn to fly those firesprays afterward.

I was thinking gunner would be useful to crack some of these high AGI ships floating around out there now. IG and Interceptors.

PTL + K4 + EU is a strong combo on Kath. The biggest problem of course is it makes targeting priority easy for your opponent (kill Kath!). In that particular build I'd prefer to drop the HLC to boost Boba's effectiveness, because he's going to end up being your 'closer' unless your opponent is dumb (in which case you'll probably win anyway). Would definitely like to see a crew on him. Gunner or Tactician or maybe even Rebel Captive. Autoblaster + Tactician could be useful, or Gunner + Flechette cannon. Rebel Captive + 'mangler' even?

What was your strategy?
In terms of game plan, Kath is certainly my main damage dealer and Boba does high-PS hunting.
I fly both of them aggressively and let the opponent choose a target. Whichever Firespray gets chased can kite quite very well once you learn their maneuver. If Boba is the one being hunted first (usually the case), then I slow-roll Kath and unleash a TL+focus HLC shot every turn. If Kath is being chased first (less common due to her pilot ability), you can fly Boba from behind extremely aggressively for 4 R1 shots and rerolls.
I've found that the offensive output of my two ships is about the same in either situation. It really puts the opponent in a difficult situation when you give Kath that HLC. Overall, the list plays similar to SuperDash/Chewie lists, except with a lot more firepower.

You're not the first person to warn me about PTL on Firesprays. In general, it seems like a very unpopular idea since their maneuver dials are so predictable. I've tried Predator/Outmaneuver + RecSpec as an alternative and it just doesn't have the same punch (even going 6-2). While waffling back and forth in the weeks before regionals, I came to reaize that:
And yea, I would love to fit a Tactician on Boba. It would really help against PTL lists like you said.

That has been my problem trying to pair him with whisper.
I recently tweaked my scum dual fire spray list. Original version went 57-13, but somehow only went 2-2 at a store champion ship. New version is 9-3 so far.

PTL is fine on Kath with K4, you have to do a green manoeuvre for K4 to give you the target lock anyway if that's what you want, obviously if your playing against a stress giving list, you won't be using PTL as much but you will still be doing a green to rid yourself of stress and you'll still get your focus/evade unless your double stressed and your K4 target lock.

I really like that Kath, but I'd rather have 7 points of various upgrades or a cannon on Boba rather than the HLC on Kath. I'm going to run something like the following in a tournament on Sunday:
Kath Scarlet (38)
-PTL (3)
-K4 (2)
-Engine Upgrade (4)
Boba Fett (39)
-VI (1)
-Tactician (2)
-Autoblaster (5)
-Engine Upgrade (4)
Either Inertial Dampeners x2 (one on each Firespray) or a Seismic Charge on Boba for 100 total points. Boba can race to range 1 of a high-agility target and obliterate it with Autoblaster, or use his Tactician at range 2 to stress his target and set them up for himself or Kath the following round. His PS 10 is high enough to chase down most troublesome arc-dodgers. Kath, meanwhile, is 3-action Kath, and focuses on burning down high-HP targets while Boba chases their friends.
