I am looking into the possibility of running a high point buy group game for those of us making it to GenCon 2015.

Depending on interest and confirmation we can establish the teams and "house rules" for the group, like say the point buy.

I think it should be North of 2,000 points per side. Let's get that established if we have enough interest, we can contact Fantasy Flight for support material and I can get independent game media to cover the event.

We will need two teams and coordinators for each team, and 2 to 3 volunteers as impartial judges.

Also for those with interest, in a spoiler list what team you want to play and how many points in ships you have available for this combat as well as any suggestions you may have in this recruitment.

Might be able to have two ships activate at the same time, one from each team - to keep things going at a reasonable pace, rather than having one person moving a ship while a bunch of people are stuck watching and in the interest of keeping the game shorter than 5 hours haha.

Some simple rules you'd need to make this work:

Each team activates one ship each at the same time - but must remain in sync in the ship phase. This means that you can't move onto shooting until both teams have resolved commands, you can't move onto manoeuvring until both teams have resolved shooting.

Team with 'Initiative' gets first choice on placing ships when in the manoeuvring step, and it's squadrons activate first in the case of simultaneous squadron commands.

Could even do two ships activating per team if you had enough people.
