I'm playing the cr90 campaign, which says that rebels can't choose "unique" upgrade cards. Which one are those? How do I distinguish them?

They're the ones with the Dot right before the name.

Example: R2D2, Luke Skywalker, et c. are all Unique. R2 Astromech and Gunner are not.

Unique upgrades have the bullet in front of the name. Named pilots are bulleted and therefore unique. Normally you can't have more than one unique named card with the same name in your squad regardless of the type. For example, you can't have Darth flying his TIE Advanced and take the Darth crew card on a shuttle as well.

In the case of the scenario, any upgrade card with a bullet is not allowed.

Note, there are a couple unique upgrades that are NOT proper names. Squad Leader for example is a unique upgrade. Those are really easy to miss.
