Tie fighter with a turret???

By Djturbo12345, in X-Wing

Well I'm kinda new to the forums don't how to post the pic I want to share but on the 2nd force awakens trailer we see a new tie fighter in the hanger bay chaos clip it looks like it has 2 missile tubes and Mabey also a turret on the bottom!!! It's for sure not the tie fighter we see chasing down the falcon in the trailer it has a different cockpit and the joints at the cooling foiling foils look super beefy!! So what do u all think of a low cost (Lets call it heavy tie fighter or tie fighter advanced) first order ship with low hull and a turret and missiles!!

Edit.... If it is a turret it would hit the cooling foils so it would only hit front and rear

There is already a much cooler version of a TIE with a turret:

I want the tie aggressor in the game also but this one will be cannon!

A cannon upgrade for the turret would be overdone.

Yeah but will it be canon?

Lol

Guess it dosent need a upgrade slot unless we want it to cost more or an upgrade card or special named pilots

There are two likely outcomes:

We will get the TIE/cog (and other The Force Awakens) for x-wing, which wouldn't have a turret but a secondary, rear, fire arc. If this happens we will likely not see the aggressor. It would be be too similar to the new movie craft, and doesn't have the benefit of mass recognition

The other option is we may still get the aggressor for x-wing, as the force awakens and forward movie products will be a separate stand alone product line.

I feel the former is more likely.

I assume you mean this scene. But I don't see this other TIE you're talking about. All I see are the revamped TIE Fighters with the white solar panels, and what looks like some sort of troop transports in the background.

TIE/cog

What is that?

Tie cog is the tie that has what looks like a rear facing gunners seat on the tie with a turret, it's called the cog because of the shape the strut connectors have at the wing.

This is the heavy tie fighter or tie/cog

This is the standard updated tie

Heh, I'm super happy to see that name catching on - I've been pushing it for a while... :-D

I dident even notice the poster art was a tie fighter advanced( train gonna keep making up new names for it)

Ohhh! I see, that's the BACK of the TIE Fighter.

So it's like a fancier TIE Fighter, but the laser cannons are on some kind of swivel mount.

Right, so...running theory, FFG puts out a new "TIE Fighter" model (I hope it's more than just a repaint) in the new inverted white/black scheme with the ability to fire in an auxiliary arc like the Firespray.

IDEALLY via a title card, so they can use the "base model" to introduce new standard TIE Fighter pilots to breath some life into the thing.

What if we get force awakens expansions one for the imperials with the new painted standard tie fighter and the new turreted tie fighter in one box!

And then the rebels get the new t-70 Xwing with regular paint job and with the stealth paint job we have seen this pack will also include some kinda buff that everyone wants for the current t-65 xwing!

Mabey we will see some cool new bounty hunter ships in the movie and the scum will get an expansion as well

Actually I bet they wait for the t-65 x-wing buff and they do it with a rogue one expansion

Am I the only one who wonders if the turret can also depress to fire on ground targets? That might make it a descendent of the TIE/gt ground targeting variant. That does nothing for this game, but Imperial assault (or first order assault) could include that feature.

I for one very much hope FFG do a separate run for JJ-X-Wing, it would mean re-packaging the base game but with JJ ships and Disney's Star Wars X-Wing scrawled on the box in big block letters.

This way they can make use of all the pretty JJWars art and make it easy for the kiddies (JJ fans) to tell apart from the OT based game.

On a more serious note it would allow FFG to start making parallel games that use the same base rules that can also be compatible with the original game, meaning they could release a ground combat game, JJ Wars game and even branch out to Battlestar Galactica.

It's a good way to expand there product base without having to completely revamp the rules and keep most of the fans happy.

don't shoot the wings :P

JJWars

Seriously, stop saying that.

Green dice AND turrets?

It's like you want me to hate this thing before it even properly exists!
