List Creation Question

By JJs Juggernaut, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey all, first of all I know this might go better in the fleet building sub forum, but due to a limited time frame I think this might be more visible for feedback. (I know I don't always check the subforums)

I could very possibly be attending my first Armada tournament tomorrow, but its rather last minute for me (I didn't know about the tournament until earlier today), so I'm looking for advice, both about tournament play and my list construction. First for some background. I own the core set and 1 of all wave 1. My only games against actual opponents (there have been some solo games) have been played from the Rebel side, however I have yet to win, though the MOV tended to split very close. I've mainly been testing wave 1 fleets and don't feel like I've used enough of the different cards to make the best tournament list. Most of my battle fleets have mainly focused on capitals, leaving squadrons to a token 2-4 units for a screen, but my opponents list have likewise gone squadron light.

So I have a few thoughts, should I continue with the rebels due to play experience, or would it be better in the current meta to play imperials? My possible lists ideas so far:

Imperials:

2 Vic 1s with concussion missiles, one with Screed on it

1 Glad with Demolisher, Techs, Missiles, and maybe Wulf or Intel Officer

Fill the rest with ties, maybe two interceptors,

Objectives would be Advanced Gunnery, Dangerous Territory, Contested Outpost or Hyperspace Assault.

Rebels:

I really want to try 3 nebs with XI7 turbos and one salvation + Intel Officer, with Dodonna, + Dodonna's pride on a CR90B, but I don't have the third neb or two more XI7 turbos, but I digress.

I would probably use the Assault Frigate mkIIA just because I love it so much, Would add on ECMs, Intel Officer or Raymus, and either XI7 or Enhanced armament. I'm not sure about the titles, I haven't tried Gallant Haven at all, and I seem to have a hard time getting Paragon to work (maybe need gunnery team?).

I would like 4 rebel ships, since this seems to help with activation economy. So probably 2 CR90Bs and Neb-b Escort Frigate

Would probably go for Dodonna on the Neb-b and a Dodonna's Pride CR90B.

Objectives would be Precision Strike, Hyperspace Assault, and Intel Sweep (since I feel like that is a bad choice for any Imperial, any even a blue v blue match)

Squadrons would be Luke and more x-wings or b-wings. This is squadron light though and I don't know if that will hurt to much to make this a non viable list.

Please give me your thoughts and feel free to suggest fleets!

As I understand it, Santa Claus makes lists. Even checks them twice.

Then he blasts you with a turbolaser.

Santa's a jerk.

Is it 300 points?

IMO the Victory or the AF are "safer" choices at this juncture. They are relatively straightforward ships to control.

I'm sure a good player with a 3x Neb list, plus the right strategy, objectives, and initiative bid could do well at a competitive tourney. But for a relatively inexperienced player, making a last-minute list, you'll probably have more fun and more of a chance at competing if you bring something forgiving and easy to fly.

Go with what you know.

New game, try it on 3 missions and that will give you a good feel for it.
