Ideas to make descent have more combat

By Zarkil, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hey everybody. I purchased IA a few months ago and love it but have decided to switch over to descent for a while because it has more content for the campaign side.

IA is the first game like this I have ever played and while I enjoyed it as is I found that if I removed the round limit and increased the threat I enjoyed it a lot more. I like how it makes the game more combat heavy but still tactical as you only have so many rounds before you will be overrun. I would like to do something similar with descent but after watching some videos of the game I don't have any good ideas.

Anybody run into the same situation and have some ideas? I will only have the core box for a while and will be playing with 4 heroes. I have looked through the forums but my god there is a lot of info! Thanks!

I'm not really sure why you want to do that.

There are quests where you have to kill certain monsters, there are quests where you have to kill all of them, and there are quest where you have to do something else. There is plenty of combat in Descent.

If you make all the quests more combat you kind of defeat the purpose of the quests.

I know IA is less about kill stuff even then Descent is. I played it twice and sold my copy.

The campaign that comes with Descent also isn't very good. If you don't want to buy any more expansions then get the Heirs of Blood Campaign book. Only uses the base game, and a way better campaign.
