eowyn and herugrim

By jblaze, in Strategy and deck-building

I whipped this deck together last night, but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Meant to be a solo deck that also works in multi. There isn't really a theme, I'm not a skilled enough deck builder at this point to worry about that :)

Eowyn gets Herugrim, celebrian's stone, dunedain quests, and action advantage to become a questing and killing powerhouse. Card draw is there mainly to support all the chucking you'll want to do to her ability in both questing and combat phases.

I went with hobbits to keep the threat low while the deck ramps up. Defense is the major weak point. I probably went overboard on resource generation, but I wanted to make sure I could get set up as quickly as possible.

It's far from perfect, I'd welcome any suggestions.

Cool deck idea. If you need more defense, I would consider Hobbit Cloaks and/or Dunedain Warnings for Sam. Between the low starting threat and using Gandalf to reduce threat, Sam should be able to use his ability and the Cloak most of the time. To make room, I would probably take out Steed of the Mark or Errand Rider.

You could also consider another Dunedain quest and/or Favors of the Lady to further boost Eowyn. Also if you need more card draw, you could include Fast Hitch and Peace and Thought.

Nice... I like the idea.

+1 for boosting Sam's defense & fast hitch :)

Have you considered adding "Ride them Down"... as trampling enemies in the staging area would be another way to mitigate your defense frailties?

these are good suggestions, thanks so much!

I was also thinking miruvor might synergize well with this deck because you could use it for readying, resource smoothing, and/or boosting eowyn's willpower for the entire round.
