Started with X-wing in January and would like some suggestions for the following:

1) Countering a 4 B-wing squadron.

2) A decent swarm build centerd on the Z-95, if that's possible.

3) A suggestion as to handle those annoying Ion Canons and Turrets.

In general i'd like to thank all that have posted on these forums. From suggested builds to rules interpts and custom repaints it has all been very informative and entertaining.

1. A few general rules of thumb flying against 4 B-Wings -

If you have few ships, like a 3 pilot list that isn't 3 interceptors, you're going to have a bad time. You don't put out enough shots to focus down a B-Wing in one turn with average rolls. Don't fly straight at them, they are monstrous with 8 HP. They are also excellent "knife fighters" with their K-2 so you want to keep them at range, and outside their arc if possible.

2. Flying A Z-95 Swarm -

I really want to build this list, but it means buying another S&V starter and a single Z Expansion to work

I have seen this list do well in person - also check out HeyChadwick's post in the battle report section, I believe he recently did very well at a tournament with this list

3. Ion Cannon Turrets -

To have a better grasp of why exactly you are struggling with them, I would need to know what you're flying and what they are mounted on. The default answer would be to arc-dodge the cannon, and attempt to block the ship with the turret so they have to shoot it actionless.

2. XZXZXZ may not be centered on Z-95's exactly but it gives you six ships with similar dials. Going with XXZZZZ would still leave you with 6 ships but give you more room to play around with upgraded pilots.

Thanks Steve. I'm most familiar with the flight characteristics of the X and Z. Not saying I'm great flying them but I like the idea of fielding two three ship sections that mirror each other. Just wish some of the Z's could take EPT's. I'll try this next chance I get.
