Anyone else had any leaning issues with their Assault Frigates?

By tin_snips, in Star Wars: Armada

So I finally received my Wave 1 stuff. Opened it all up and went through it all like a kid on Christmas day. But then I got to the Assault Frigates. Both of my miniatures have the bottom tower leaning to the left. Both touch the stand, and one is angled so much is actually applies pressure to the stand. Poor phone camera image below.

Has anyone else had this problem?

No. But hopefully you can fix this problem with hot water. Heat water to about 60-70°C (140-160°F), leave it in it for 5 minutes and then look, if you can bend the appendage. If not, try hotter water, if not enough, immerse it some more minutes. Don't go over 90°C/190°F, if you still can't bend it, use customer service.

Mine is slightly slanted when in its stand, but its barely noticable. Nowhere near as bad as yours.

a hairdryer will also soften up the plastic for it to bend back in place and then drop it in a cold water bath. You must reforge the assault frigate of narsil.

Ya some heat and cold water to set it is all it takes. Its an easy piece to remove, with a little wiggle the glue let go and it came off.

.... or you just sent it back and demand a piece thats fine.

No need to send it back or make any demands.

Go to Damaged or Missing Components and fill out the form, they may want a picture of the model but FFG is amazing about replacing damaged or defective stuff.

I once contacted Customer Service about buying some replacement bases for X-Wing and they sent me 3-4 of them for free. There's stories all over the X-Wing forms about people getting whole new ships when something was damaged, even when it was their dogs fault.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I did try to wriggle the piece to see if I could loosen it and re-glue, but even applying a fair amount of pressure it wouldn't budge. Any more pressure and I'm worried it would snap.

Have contacted customer service, so fingers crossed. The guy putting these ones together must have been hungover that day haha.

Mine is exactly like that. I contacted FFG customer service. They've been helpful before (with damaged Eldritch Horror board) so I hope this will be resolved nicely. Also the color is as dark as Gladiator Class SD which I think should be closer to white.

I've actually had problems with every ship. My Corelian Corvette and Neb-B wiggles on the stand and both of them are leaning a bit down from the front. My Gladiator Class SD's fin didn't fit in the key shaped hole so I had to use a hobby knife to make it fit. Also on my VSD, the part with the key shaped hole wiggles a lot which is kinda annoying when moving the ship.

I'm baffled by the low quality of the ships.

Both of mine are straight as a whistle!

wait does that even make sense?

No leaning issues, but boy have I had some epic LEARNING issues.

Sigh....
