84 points to add an Academy or Hull/Shield upgrades to everyone or?

With AC sure, why not, 16 pts give you room for DC or Backstabber or whatever. Or just add cluster missiles.

I had fun playing 3 Tempests with Accuracy Correctors with Vader (ATC, Predator, Engine Upgrade).

Four Tempests plus Dark Curse will likely be harder to kill than BBBBZ for a lot of lists but it won't do nearly as much damage.
