Whats the best way to play the Imperial Decimator?

May not be very maneuverable, nor does it have any Evade, but from what I've seen it's more of a gun boat that needs to be supported while it takes on the heavier enemy ships.

Some suggestions on builds or weapons is appreicated

It is more fragile than you think. Sure, it has a ton of HP, but they are mostly hull and with 0 agility it can be torched fairly quickly when facing any sort of swarm. Crits can pile up so anything that mitigates them is a big plus.

Avoid completely decking one out as it can reach 55+ points quickly so you would have an "all your eggs in one basket" situation. This makes it public enemy #1 to your opponent and, as previously noted, it will wilt under sustained fire.

It might sound counterintuitive but throw an Engine Upgrade on it and play it like an arc dodger. Not giving your opponent shots on your Decimator is the best way to negate the huge drawback of having zero agility.

Not very maneuverable? Yeah it wont do a k turn or anything but a hard 3 left/right is often underestimated by your opponent as far as distance. Add an Engine upgrade and you can almost run circles around them unless they keep K turning. Gets you out of a lot tight places.

I've played the decimator around seven times and I suggest to stay away from the patrol leader and Kenkirk. predator is very good on the other two pilots. Try not to invest in too many points in it. Most people try to take it down first so make sure what ever else is on your list can punish them as they do so.
