What would you recommend to be the best way to produce stress in your enemy?
Stress?
Perform all maneuvers and actions and roll all dice with full confidence.
as above
but if you're talking about the game mechanic, the single most reliable source of stress is R3-a2 who can stress at all ranges and independently of any condition safe you attack the target and have him in arc. With the BTL-A4 title, you can stress the target twice (once per attack). R3-a2 will stress your ship in return, though.
tactician is another very popular option, which is restricted to range 2 and arc but will stress independently of what you roll
Panic attack (ICT, R3-A2 y-wing, with 3 tactician B-wings) is probably the most well known stress build
Kath (imperial) can now stress more effectively with calculation (star viper pack) and mangler cannon (scyk)
with wave 7, scum gets the YV-666 which has a 180 degree firing arc and up to 3 slots for tacticians (which do stack
)
Rebel captive, and Mara Jade on a Decimator. Mara Jade doesn't stack stress, but it will give all opponent ships within Range 1 a stress at the end of the round.
forgot to mention
I used to use a modified version of panic attack back before the phantom errata
instead of a y-wing, I used V.I + EU Luke Skywalker (the only PS 10 rebel ace that could take r3-a2 without costing an arm and a leg ala Corran, and also the only x-wing that doesn't die in a stiff breeze ala wedge or wes) two tactician B-wings and a proto-type pilot (world's best blocker)
this was before wave 6 and before the y-wing double-tap existed, and it was also basically necessary in order to stress whisper before Advanced Cloaking device could kick in. Luke himself also performs incredibly well against 2-attack mini-swarm ships which the 1 agility Ys and Bs do not.
It is most likely a question of preference, but with whisper gone for the far more reasonable soontir and not a whole lot of ties in sight, I've been trying out the Y-wing instead (which will double stress PTL users even if they did not PTL
)
Stress on the ship? Or stress on the opponent?
I'm pretty sure Flechette Torps aren't a bad method, nor are the Tactician cards. Rebel Captive and Mara are good for Imps.
As for your opponent... I think the best method is usually kill his ships faster than he kills yours. There's always that moment in a game where a particular maneuver or a particular roll will change the outcome, either in your favour or theirs. That moment - win them. If you manage to take that roll or make that maneuver/that maneuver doesn't work for your opponent, that will introduce stress for your opponent.
The best opponents are the ones who handle stress, both as an individual and on their ships, with careful aplomb. Handle the stress, you'll win more than you lose.

Chalkboard + fingernails.
Poke your opponent in the eye! Pretty stressful.

As a TO, I'm calling those unsportsmanlike like conducts.
Now... making loud "Star Wars noises" when moving your ships and rolling dice often will produce annoyance from your opponent (and others) but I would rule this as a harmless way of personally enhancing one's gaming experience. ![]()
Be ugly and play naked.
OGP Shuttle + 2x Tactician is my favorite!
On the imperial side, rebel captive is very good, as the timing of the stress shuts many things down, from ACD to PTL
Mara Jade is also good at preventing k turns, but less a stressor than captive or r3-a2 and more position denial to threat of stress.
For all the stress generators.
- Debris Clouds is now a part of your squad building(just hope you don't face Dash which will be likely to show up)
- Tactician (have to be in arc and at range 2)
- Flechete Torpedoes don't need to hit (only works on hull 4 or less ships. So large ships (except aggressors) and Y-wing and bombers are immune.
- Flechete Cannons like stress version of ion cannons (Doesn't stack but takes a cannon slot so you loose a lot of firepower)
- Rebel Captive Imperial (effective against high pilot skill as they shoot first)
- Mara Jade Imperial (close range stress but does not stack)
- R3-A2 Rebel (stress bot but self stresses and unique so only 1)
Well there is all your stress generating options. However the problem is that a single stress token doesn't control the opponent. You will need to double stress and 2 of those options don't stack.
Edited by Marinealver4 shuttles with double Tactician on each.
More reasonably, Panic Attack as mentioned above. Y-Wing with R3-A2 double-tap is sort of the Rebel Doomshuttle; its job isn't to get actions and stay alive, but to stress the opponent as much as humanly possible.
Take out your smartphone and put this on repeat:
Works every time.
Kidnap their family and put them in a tank slowly filling with water, you'll need a camera that can stream wirelessly with a masked ip and a tablet you can use to show your opponent, then you tell him the only way they'll get the location is if they win.
That was all useful. Especially the funny stuff. Thanks all.
Tantive IV can deliver 18 stress tokens during one round of combat.

Don't get it confused with the GR-75 transport jam action. However I don't think the OP was referring to epic.
