Actually, the DS didn't launch any fighters when the falcon escaped. The 4 TIEs they fought were part of the routine patrols that were already flying out around the DS on the falcons exit vector. Even if Tarkin wanted to send more fighters after them (they wanted the falcon to escape, remember) there wouldn't have been time to get them launched.
