From the looks of it, Interdictor can only run with VSD. Can't run with 2 GSD with 1 interdictor since I don't have extra of GSD's base.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. May have to look at picking up another GSD or something.

I know Mel makes custom bases but they're pretty expensive (not his fault obviously, just the way it is) and I haven't checked them out personally so I don't know how good they are.
I'm probably going to just pick up more ships.
I think it works best as a small ship. Really, there ought to be more than three base sizes, but we're stuck for now with just three, so we have to work with that.
I have to disagree with Diablo - I think it ought to be a small ship. Length-wise it fits right in between the Gladiator and assault frigate, and Mel's model is only slightly shorter than the Victory (and might be a little longer than the AF, I haven't checked), but in terms of volume, it's WAY smaller than either the Victory or the assault frigate. It's not nearly as tall or wide as the Victory and not nearly as...bloated as the assault frigate.
I don't have my Interdictor yet (a Shapeways tale of woe... will probably post about it when the dust settles) so you're in a much better position to judge than I am! ![]()
But then I have to wonder, which future ships will fit in the "Medium" and "Large" categories? Miniature scaling issues aside, it feels very weird to lump a 600m cruiser in the same category as a 150m corvette. Perhaps the GSD should probably have been Medium, too.
Gameplay-wise, I suppose it doesn't make much difference. It's slightly harder to reach and easier to hide, which is to its advantage, but benefits significantly less from Motti's bonus. Nothing to write home about, really.
I am just using a Gladiator stand. Still has the medium ship peg mount so works out just fine. I agree that the ship although quite long is comparably smaller in volume.
The mix of black and blue dice is more in-line with my thinking on its armament. Black dice with no ordnance upgrade slot is a great way to represent short range high firepower weapons. The majority of black dice thinkers have these relegated to missiles which does not have to be the case. I did notice a Quad Laser upgrade card in one of the wave 2 expansions, so in future we can revisit the take on quads.
I hit up the Vindicator below based on the same hull. My suggestion is adjust your base fire arcs to be more in line with other star destroyer types and you are good. I mounted this ship on a medium base due to function of the class more then size. So there are many ways to interpret base size.

Yes, I also noticed the Quad upgrade. An Offensive Retrofit upgrade, maybe?
I'd be all for black dice if they had the accuracy icon, and perhaps that's what the future upgrade tackles, but as it is I'm more comfortable with blues (or a mixture of blacks and blues).
I think it would be an offensive retrofit for sure. Totally understand the need for the accuracy icons, so the mix blue/black fits.
