Movement points and interact while being in a space occupied by hostile figure?

By Celeanor, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello

I've just sent in two rules question to FFG regarding movement points and interactions while being in a space occupied by hostile figures.

Question 1: Can a Hero figure use movement points to move into a space occupied by a hostile figure. While there, can the hero do interact or do other action such as attribute test, after which the hero figure uses more movement points ending his movement in an empty space?

If the answer to question 1 is " yes, such movement and actions is ok, it do not violate rules as written ". Then the following problem arises.

The premise is as follows: Gideon have 4 Movement points ( mp ) and 1 action that he can spend on an interaction. This interaction allows him to flip a terminal token and role an attribute test. See image below the bullet points.

  1. Use 1 mp to move to the space occupied by Gaarkhan figure (friendly figure)
  2. Use 2 mp to move to a space occupied by Nexu figure (Hostile figure)
  3. Use 1 action which enables Gideon to Interact with the terminal and role an attribute test
  4. Use 1 mp to move to a space occupied by Gaarkhan figure (friendly figure)
  5. Since he do not have mp left and cannot end his movement on a figure he gets pushed to an empty space.

Can the Gideon figure do this or does it violate the rules? What are your thoughts about this?

Kind regards

Figures can move through other figures’ spaces. The figure must spend one additional movement point to enter a space containing a hostile figure. Some abilities allow figures to move through spaces containing blocking and impassible terrain.

The definition of “moving through a space” is that the figure can enter the space as long as it does not end its movement in the space. The figure cannot enter the space if this would spend its last movement point.

Gideon can not end his movement in a space with another figure.

I'm almost positive I've seen an official FFG ruling that performing any action or interrupt constitutes "ending your movement" (even if you will move again later in your activation) and so you can not do that while in a space occupied by another figure. So Gideon can load up on movement points to step through friendly and hostile figures, but he may not pause to do anything else (such as interact, attack, rest, or use a special action) while on top of another figure; he must stop (temporarily) in an empty space to perform such actions.
