Juno - is that her dial or just a visualization?

By WWHSD, in X-Wing Rules Questions

In the article that spoiled Juno Eclipse there was an image of a TIE Advanced dial next to Juno's dial. It is my understanding that Juno's dial was just a tool for visualizing the possibilities that her ability brings to the dial. With Juno's ability, the color of the maneuver set on the dial is the color of the maneuver that she performs even if she opts to change it. This puts he in a situation that choosing to perform a maneuver with a speed of 2 gives her the most flexibility but limits the green on her dial.

Juno can choose to either optimize her dial for stress removal or choose to maximize flexibility but won't always be able to do both. Am I interpreting things correctly?

Here's something I put together that has the dials from the article (first two listed) plus what her dial might look like if she makes picks the least optimal maneuver for stress removal.

Yes, you understood correctly.

As you've figured out it is just a visualization with no actual dial change happening.

In some ways I'd say Juno has even fewer dial selections to make. If she turns it will always be speed 2. Banks are speed 2 if she wants the most freedom to change them or speed 1 if she wants them green. The K-turn is pretty much set. Moving forward you've got 2 for the low speed green, 3 for the midrange green, and 4 for the high speed straight. That's just 10 spots which I think is the fewest available maneuvers for any ship although they expand into the most possible options.

Yeah for an opponent, it becomes less about predicting her dial choice, but more about how the player will adapt to what you do.

If you block a K-turn, will they speed past or cut short? You have to think way more about where she might be and how you could block the options.

Played with Juno for the first time last night. Interesting to me that the card says she can't go slower than 1, but it really doesn't say that she can't do a 6 straight or 4 bank/turns.

Moreover, I could score 2 out of 3 of them for a little house-rule fun:

DVD didn't have to ban the 6 straight or 4 bank. No templates exist for those moves, yet.

She can't do a maneuver that doesn't exist. There are no speed 4+ turns or banks, and no speed 6+ straights/kturns.

However, in the event more maneuvers do get added(like the rumored 4 turns and banks in the Silencer) then those would become legal moves for he to do.
