Rohan two-player cooperative thematic decks.

What if.....what if Gandalf came sooner....what if Theodred could have been saved...

'Now, lord,' said Gandalf, 'look out upon your land! Breathe the free air again!'

'It is not so dark here,' said Théoden.

'No,' said Gandalf. 'Nor does age lie so heavily on your shoulders as some would have you

think.'

'Dark have been my dreams of late,' said Théoden, 'but I feel as one new-awakened. I would now that you had come before, Gandalf. For I fear that already you have come too late, only to see the last days of my house. But where is Theodred? Where is my son?'

'He is deffending our western border, my Lord, the fords of Isen. The messanger came from him. They are expecting a large attack of Dunlendings and orcs from Isengard. My dear cousin is afraid this will be his last battle. But he stayed anyway.'

'What? My son is in danger? I wish you would come sooner indeed, Gandalf! We must ride out to help him. Muster the Rohirrim!

Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded!

Forth Eorlingas.........'

Let me intruduce you my 2-player cooperative Rohan themed decks.

Heroes: Eomer Theoden Eowyn Gandalf Erkenbrand Theodred

Only comment, might be helpful if you threw Shadowfax into the first deck because that way westfold horse breeder could find her and you might not need 3 copies. Also, is Helm! Helm! necessary considering how powerful Eomer and Theoden with his sword are?

The Theoden deck is already "full" and I would not know what to throw away from it and the Gandalf decks has plenty of card draw is able to pay for it better (I would rather use those Spirit and Tactics resources for other things, like rohan allies). And spare Shadowfaxes can be discarded to Eowyn.

And Helm! Helm! is not necessary, it's more a cool card I wanted to try ;) . But for those big Huorns, Mugash's Guards, Tunneling Nameless Things and so on it may come handy (most of the allies have low attack and quest anyway and also Theoden quests sometimes and its another way to discard and trigger Eomund). But yes, for most quests it can be erased from deck. ;)

Love how your decks work together so well! just one thing. I think its called strength in arms . you have to have all leadership heroes to play it. just wanted to verify that Gandalf's effect says that he only has all spheres when playing from the top of your deck. I just realized that that's how you plan on playing it! ok, so ignore this. I just wanted to give you a thumbs up!

Exactly, Strength of Arms can only be played from the top of the deck, but with a Pipe it's no so hard to achieve. (And readying Ents the same round they enter play and also entire army of Rohan allies? Excellent card, although mid or lategame.)

And thank you, Sauron (heh, never thought I would say sentence like this ;) )

These look like amazing decks and the first of their kind I've seen! I can't wait to test them...but your showered us with so many different 2 player/handed decks that it hard to know which to try first!

Again, just a suggestion. It would be interesting and helpful to get some feedback on how they actually play.

So many thanks again for answering my call for more 2 player/handed decks!

Boronind:

With these I played Voice of Isengard and whole Ringmaker cycle without much problems, overall rate 3/4 more or less.

Only obvious achilles heel is Dunland trap. These decks depend on items, mounts and army of allies....so.....****. But on 3rd attampt I made it (I managed to put on table Treabeard and some non-item attachements).

Then Shadows of Mirkwood. Normal no problem. Nightmare not much problem except Return to Mirkwood. Thay scenario is impossible without great deal of rebuilding. They just can´t handle that threat.

Some tips how to play them are in the list, I will copy them here:

Engage with Theoden deck, sentinel with Erkenbrand (and Gandalf amd Warden).
Theodred/Staff and Heir of Mardel is excellent combo, also give another deck resources if needed.
Mullingan to Pipe or Song to be able to play Lore cards.
Lots of location controll.
Eomund or Strength of Arms can be a game changer. (Getting ready those huge ents in right time can wipe the board)
Obvious Treasure Hunter-Hidden cache combo.

updated 16.8.

Glad you updated. One question: I don't have the old deck list to look at; am I assuming the only change is Snowmane? Do tell....

Updated
