The title says it all.My last Two tournament losses were with Fire Spray and IG or Fire Spray and Empire ships. In both games I had manage to get the spray into a great position for 3+ rounds and just had abysmal results with the reds. One game was multiple rounds of range 1 vs an A wing I couldn't seal the deal. The other game was 4 rounds of range two vs a 1 shield left B wing. I undedstand not dropping the A is a matter ofvariance more than anything else, but the B wing?

I've had great tourney success with the ship so far.. But, I'm done with single action sprays. The 3 red dice fail way to often for me. I'm not a good enough player to rest on my positioning when the dice don't fill the blanks.

I think I'm going to move on to K4 or rec spec and lone wolf/PTL/predator from now on. The 2 ship builds just flop so hard when you don't have built in dice reliability.

When you're only flying 2 ships, you need to guarantee that you're doing damage. You can't afford multiple turns of hit focus blank with a list that only throws out 6-7-8 attack dice every round.

Combo 4 dice, gunner, and FCS. Like a super Phantom or IG 88B with HLC. Hyper modify your attacks. It doesn't really matter if you only have 2 attacks if you can just TL+Focus on 4 attack dice and vaporize something.

This is one of the reasons why Scum Boba is incredible.

Last Sunday was Fett VI Tactician Engine and IG HLC predator Sensors auto thrusters

It's a list I have won a 4 round tournament with. Yesterday I was watching Fett do nothing if he was not in range one. The A wing trouble was with a wonky empire Kath with lone wolf so the dice thing was also extremely frustrating there. Boba works in the squad, but in my play time withe the VI Tactician Engine build he does nothing but drop a stress if he is out of range one.

IG could mean four different pilots. I'm guessing you mean B though. Then again, Advanced Sensors means it might be D.

With B, Fire Control System is really good, because if you miss on the first attack you get the lock to use on your second. As for Fett, his ability and Tactician are working against each other a little. K4 Security Droid Push The Limit Engine Upgrade is a nice combo if you want to be able to adjust to hit Range 1 although it's quite easy to block (although if you are blocked you've got yourself a ship at Range 1). Dracon swears by Expert Handling (gotta try that out myself some day) which pairs nicely with K4 again, gives you huge mobility on a large ship and is somewhat cheaper. Finally, as Fett's trying to maximise Range 1 all the time Dead Man's Switch is usually quite useful.

I've had more failure than success lately with two ship builds. They can be powerful but they aren't very forgiving.

That seems OK... I didn't even need tactician to reign in super dash last tourney so it's conceivable. K4 seems so redundant on Fett, but it's not like I'm getting any significant work from him outside of R1 anyhow.

The tactician engine synergy is so awesome when it works. Uhg, I'm sick of watching 3 reds and a focus fail, turn after turn.

I assume it's B, unless someone prefers an inferior aggressor.

You know what sucks about Firesprays? The greens. 1 slights 1 forward and 2 forward. UGH.

About as bad as Dash's. Except, for some reason, feels like Sprays do better cuz of the R1 firepower.

Well, clearly you need to sacrifice one in front of the others so that they learn their place.

Without the builds, there is not much to say. I will say, short of Imp Boba, most of the Firespray pilots have good ways to deal with it. Imp Kath, you want them to cancel your crits. Krassis adds a little bit of reroll. Scum Kath just adds more dice. And Emon doesn't even need to attack, just drop his bombs.

It does sound like you should look at upgrades like Predator, Lone Wolf, Recon Specialist, Outlaw Tech, or K4 Security Droid.

Take Predator and Engine, you won't regret it.

K4 and PTL. Target lock, focus, and evade, all in one move.

Or just Predator, if you're cheap.

That's what made me stop flying Krassis. In most matches that I have a Firespray I end up shooting out of my rear arc more that I do my front arc.

Recon Spec on a Firespray, especially scum Fett, is quite nice. Kath likes it too for those range 1 butt-shots.

Engine Upgrade is so very good on a firespray. Opens your arcs up beautifully.

I love engine upgrade. My problem is not for lack of focus, I want a reroll and a focus when I'm doing red dice work! Ermon is getting more and more exciting.
