Lord Vader theory crafting

By Lyraeus, in Star Wars: Armada

So I was thinking about how could FFG represent Darth Vader's hatred of failure. Then it hit me, what if he sacrifices command tokens to increase a dials effectiveness?

Then I thought about what if he negates next turns dial in order to make your current dial twice as effective?

Thoughts?

I think they cover that with the Veteran Captian card. You elimitate the card and it lets you ignore your current command dial or something to that effect.

what about a way to boost offense at the expense of defense? Seems like his style. Sacrifice a shield to add 1 black die to your attack pool, or something like that?

I prefer the discarding of crew cards (officers, weapons teams and support teams) in order to change all or some of your dials, or the number of dials equal to, or half that of, the points value of the cards discarded.

Call it a change of executive policy.

Well, Vader has a wall of text, and knowing how FFG deals with wordings with cards it is likely more than just a Dominator like effect. Add into the equation that FFG Likes to roughly thematic and use EU references (their design crew must read all the books and comics. . . ) to influence card design the shield sacrifice is unlikely.

Hmmm he could give you bonuses for dealing damage. . . Sort of like Akbar and Paragon combined. . .

I think that he should have an ability: exhaust this card to choke your opponent until you accept his apology.

Seems balanced.

Just don't put Motti with Vader in 1 team

Just don't put Motti with Vader in 1 team

Why not? Seems to be like this would motivate the troops to performance above and beyond the line of duty :)

Given Vader is the only Jedi / Sith commander, with a truly massive amount of command experience (clone wars to ROTJ), he should have an amazing ability.

Like reduce the command value of friendly ships by one, to a minimum of one.

Or maybe give him the ability to do the most wanted mission (extra die) using his card text. This is in addition to the regular mission. This represents his unrelenting pursuit AND extermination of the Jedi. Or maybe it works against the enemy command ship.

Or maybe if a family member will be killed by an attack, immediately switch sides.

Mate he is a hero killer. Roll one extra die whenever a a named squadron or ships containing a unique character is attacked

Either way, it looks like he has a wall of text.

Ohhh he may sacrifice hull points. . .
