I have read about people using Engine Upgrade on the Tie Advanced. How is this possible when the card doesn't have the Modification symbol?

all ships may equip 1 modification card.

Tie Interceptors may equip 2 if they have the RoyAl Guard Pilot title card

As far as I know there are no ships with an icon indicating that they may take a Modification or a Title. Unless another card says differently (like Royal Guard TIE title) all ships may take one of each of those types of upgrades.

Would have been cool if, when they made the falcon, they had given it smuggler stats and 3 modification slots.

Or that would make a great scum card to use the YT-1300! Nothing like some of our known named pilots that fly on both sides of the law... but adding in illicit slots (which, hopefully, there will be more of in the future).

Modifications also come in the Imperial Aces box.
