Painting my fleet

I thought I'd put these up here so people outside of the Britain can laugh at insanity.11229901_10152810361642097_1974852013206This is what is done so far,oh and there is this.

Those are fantastic!

... Did you REALLY hollow out the Y-Wing engines? Can I ask how you achieved that?

That looks fantastic!

Very very nice. How are people cleaning these fighters? They are tough to work with using a sharp X-acto blade and my files cut them like butter, what do you guys use?

hats off 2 you man. great job

Hi the method was tiny pilot hole in the end, then 2mm drill up the nacell, measure the length first and mark your drill bit so you know you've gone far enough in(I can't stress how important this is you've never drilled as far as you think you have ) if you haven't gone far enough in the next part will be a pain.

Now score the knife repeatedly along the nacelle bars edge till it slices through without pressure. I tried using force first and it twisted the bars more and more and I slipped and cut the bats from an engine.

Finally a disclaimer. I am insane, it is not my fault if you bugger up your toys trying this stupid idea. I have a problem and I can't help myself. Have fun and if this is your first time with a pin vice drill wear a steel thimble then your thumb won't resemble a colander like mine does.

Nice work! I'm loving the...well, everything!

Any close-ups of the other snubfighters? And are you planning on getting a second AF MkII to be the Gallant Haven? After all, you'll want to keep those beautiful fighters on the table as long as you can... ;)

The next one will be in reverse colours but it's a bit off yet. Imperials are half done.

Wow man. Those are sensational. The Assault Frigate actually aroused me a little. Don't judge.

Those fighters look great!

I am temped drilling out the engines on the Y wing too.. How strong are they afterwards?
