Suggestion for Armada game

By cruiser2710, in Star Wars: Armada

Would this be a possible scenario?

The Ambush next to an asteroid area. Yes it is possible. Now that game was like 400 points of Imperials vs at best 200 points of Alliance

Throw in Rebel aces, I think it's possible to reach 400 on the Rebels as well

Slightly off topic. Frames 1:55 - 1:58 makes me laugh. The air turbine in an ion engine. Good video I watch it once in a while but the engineering was fun to observe.

I am not even going to comment. :D

Imperial propaganda nonsense.

But yes, it could be done. The thing that others pointed out is that the Points were so out of whack with the Empire having I believe over 400 while the Rebels was something around 200. Not a fair or fun engagement for a game scenario. (Also the Rebel fighters wouldn't die so fast either.;))

Imperial propaganda nonsense. Actual battle footage of brave Imperial forces quelling another terrorist cell.

Oh god! A Mikael clone!

I may have a certain reputation for championing the causes of integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in reporting like the good folks at HNN.

I am sure there has never been a fair fight in history. So mix the points someone has to be at a disadvantage with the goal to merely survive.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with clones. Clones are the reason this galaxy is safe from droid separatism.

But, as much as it would honor me, Deathseed is not my clone. My ISB case officers are a bit more full-service. They 'deliver' by coming to you.

Fellow Clones Unite!!!

This excellent propaganda vidclip could be played as a Rebel taskforce ambushed by Imperials who have got advance notice of the Rebel operation. The transport might contain troops for an assualt on an Imperial facility and could be represented by tokens/models from other games e.g. X-Wing containers. The Imperial objective would be maximum destruction of the Rebels, while the latter would be seeking to escape in the face of superior forces. The presence of the Interdictor-class heavy cruiser would prevent exit off-board [to hyperspace] until it was destroyed or severely damaged, so would be a prime target for the Rebels (as seen in the vidclip).

VSD x 2 + Interdictor + Fighter Sqds

CRC x 2 + FRG + Transports x 3 + Fighter Sqds. Rebels start in centre of board?

Rebel Troop Transports: 1 shield per facing; 2 or 3 Hull; no weapons. Basic movement of 1 with one click-turn.

Give the Imperials and Rebels as many aces/abilities as you feel adds to the story. E.g. a card to represent the clearly confident Moff/Admiral in command.

Interdictor could be represented by a Gladiator-I I suppose, but without fighter-squadron capacity. Very roughly, instead of firing, it can place an objective marker anywhere on the board to represent a gravity well. No vessels may exit within a rulers-length of that gravity well. It can maintain up to 4 gravity wells at once but no more than it has hull points left (to reflect loss of power/projectors from ship damage). It can remove an exisitng gravity-well (if at its max) and project one in a new position instead. Roll a red dice when projecting: a blank means it has failed.

The last thing any competent military man wants is a fair fight.

This is kinda cool. 2 Star destroyers (are they Victories or Imperials? I didn't pay attention) and a gladiator vs some rebels.

Right off the bat the rebels lose a Corellian Gunship, and later you see a Corellian Corvette explode as well.

Thats what you get for setting speed at 0! XD
