When the rebels cause an event to trigger that deploys reserved groups, those groups get to activate during the round they're deployed unless it specifically states they are deployed exhausted, correct? Even if that final rebel movement/action would have been the last one of the round?

My rebels whine and call me a jerk every time it happens and I want to be sure I'm a technically correct jerk

If it does not state they're exhausted, then they can be activated the same round they're deployed.

If the deployment does not happen during the status phase then the card(s) will be activated the round they deployed. They shouldn't call you a jerk but learn to not open doors with their last activation in a round.

Maybe you need new people to play with.....
