Concentrate Fire Command + Token

By JJs Juggernaut, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Quick question. I know if you are going to use them both they MUST be used on the same attack, but my question is do they both have to be used at the exact same time?

For example:

You roll your attack pool, then you spend the Concentrate Fire command to add and roll a new die of a color already in the pool. Can you then you use the Concentrate Fire token to reroll that or any other dice? or do you have to add the new dice and reroll one of the old at the exact same time?

I've played that its all in the same phase and attack, thus your not breaching the "only one resolution of a command" rule, but I can see it argued the other way. Thanks for the help!

I haven't investigated the rules on it very much, but my thinking was that you have to spend both at the sane time, but you are resolving them one after the other, so you have to decide whether or not to spend the token before rolling the extra die from the dial, but you do get to see what that die rolls before you pick one of the dice to reroll.

Hmm, saying it out loud, it doesn't sound as correct as it does in my head.

Edit: ack! Another one with the same avatar as me. Everyone, we aren't the same person double posting an answer to his own question. :)

Covered in the FAQ:

Q: If a ship spends a <concentrate fire> dial and a <concentrate fire> token together, can it reroll the die that it adds? Is it required to reroll a die?
A: It can reroll the die that it adds, and it can choose not to reroll any dice.

Ahh, thank you, I guess I need to check the FAQ out again, I didn't remember that tidbit.

Yep, you have to spend both at the same time - RR says that you can only use each command once per ship activation (using dial + token counts as one use). As per the FAQ though, if you spend the token, you don't have to use it.
