Hello, my friends and I have just recently started playing x-wing, and I just have a few questions that we are having problems with.

1) When running the VT-49 Decimator pilot Captan Oicunn dose that damage ignor shields? As in you are delt a damage card instead of taking off a shield token.

2) When bumping into another ship, are you stressed or do you just not take an action?

3) Can you land on asteroids?

Those are all the questions I can think of right now, I am sure I will be asking more in the future. Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions.

1) does not ignore sheild. the damage cards really keep tracking of how much damage a ship has taken. Removing shield tokens does the same.

2)bumping does not cause stress. You do lose your action unless you have something to grant an action like the decimator title.

3) Yes, but you roll for damage If you land on or pass through an asteroid. One red die, suffer damage on a hit or crit.

To clarify more, this might help when managing asteroids:

If your movement template crosses an obstacle while executing a maneuver:

1. Lose your Perform Action step

2. Roll an attack die and suffer the results

If your ship lands on an obstacle, overlapping it after movement:

1. Lose your Perform Action step

2. Roll an attack die and suffer the results

3. You cannot make an attack during the Combat Phase while overlapping an obstacle

If an obstacle is intervening between an attacker and his target:

1. The defender gains an additional defense die

1. Only things that explicitly tell you to deal CARDs would bypass shields otherwise it is treated like a [closed explosion symbol] or [open explosion symbol] striking the ship except defensive rolls are only allowed for attacks.

2. Generally all bumping will do is cause the ship to skip its Perform Action step. You may be able to perform actions later if given one outside of the Perform Action step. Examples include Turr after shooting or someone getting an action from Squad Leader, Cracken, or Lando.

3. Yes. You do "back off" of other ships but obstacles you can land on resulting in various effects and/or added effects.

A key word to watch for is "suffer." If you suffer damage or a crit, you follow what it says in the rule book on page 16 under "Suffer Damage."
