star Destroyer repainted, red stripes

By Corver, in Star Wars: Armada

While waiting for wave 1 I repainted my VSD. I added a red stripe to the front and on the ridge below the bridge. My other one will have blue or green.

Nice! I enjoy repainting my minis.

I noticed you added an extra wash coat right

That's pretty awesome-looking.

Do you have a headcanon story as to why your VSDs would have these markings?

But, to presume the role of forum nazi for a moment, there's a sub-forum for repaints and remodels, where this thread would have had a good home.

Yeah, I repainted the guns bolt gun metal as well. The nuln oil wash was harsher than I thought.

sorry I tho I was in that forum but it was open in a different window.

It's more of a veteran identity stripe. But also to tell them apart in game. The extra dark panels are meant to be battle damage replacements.

Many people water down their nuln oil for that very reason

You could say the red is also replacement armor plateing. In one of the old RPG books it was mentioned some sort of mix up or something happened during construction and around 100 Victories were built with a type of plate that was red. They ended up using them in a novel a few years later and called it the Crimson Command.
