How do you fix wonky ship pegs?

By Rapscallion84, in Star Wars: Armada

I've noticed this happening with increasing frequency. Ships placed on their pegs are not aligned properly, and some are really far off. It's especially distracting with the Neb-B, which is a long, straight ship that looks like it's flying with a gangster lean...

I've tried gently twisting it and holding for a while, but it just flicks back. It's really very distracting - are there any easy fixes?

Grab a scalpel and gently scrape some plastic off the peg so it can just about swivel in the stem. Scrape the plastic off like you were taking a mold line off.

Both of my neb-bs do that and I agree it looks terrible and drives me nuts!

My Corvette and Nebulon both have just a bit of wiggle room. Bugs the crap outta me

On my Victory that came in the core set, the plastic holder for the peg fell out on the first game I played. Has that happened to anyone else?

I just glued it back in.

I had a serious problem with my Gladiator support. Somehow the support is larger than it's supposed to be. When I tried to attach it ot the Gladiator or Core VSD, they go shooting off with some force. I submitted a support ticket and got a response within the day. It'll be replaced at no cost. There are disclaimers, however, that they will not replace warn parts. So I'm not sure of a solution there.

The two things I can think of are:

1. Replace it with a magnatized flightstand used in aircraft games. http://corseceng.com/omni-stand/ is a good example of an aftermarket solution. But you can make these yourself with relatively cheap magnets. https://www.kjmagnetics.com

2. Look on shapeways for a replacement peg (there are several people in the armada paint/modeling forum that have made items available).

The problem is with the stand not the ship. I've tried fitting a Neb B onto each of my 4 stands and on only one stand does it do a sideways drift. Shaving the peg on the ship will make it loose on all of the stands and I will have to shave all of my ships.

I suggest after shaving the ship to mark the offending stand so you know to match them up.
