Brainstorming

By Meridien, in Dark Heresy

Well, after quite the game on Dusk today - I'm left pondering what exactly it is I am walking around with on my character. My character is an Untouchable, so I'm fairly certain it is not a Daemonic weapon, however it has the warp weapon quality and appears to follow me if I remove it from my person, even to the point of putting it in a dresser only for it to cut it's way out. Not only this, but it reacts to my character praying in Moritat (he's a Moritat assassin). Oh, I forgot to mention the strangest thing about it, when I hit a person with it, they turned into a Chaos Spawn.

Any clue folks? I'm left wondering if I should try to rid myself of the weapon, it seems fickle. Not to mention my character is more puritan than radical in thought, thus so far he thinks there is something wrong with it. It was a gift/form of help from an Inquisitor (who if I remember right is a radical). My best guess is it is a piece of archeotech or some strange warp-based weapon - however I am unsure how it could possibly bond with an Untouchable if it is warp based.

Give it a jar of jellybeans to appease it rather than blood. It might work better.

Hahah, I'm working on it. I am thinking of getting me hands on some holy water and pouring it on.

The Sacred Oils and blessed chants of the Omnissiah shall yet purge this vile instrument of Chaos... Honestly, you were given the blade and willingly accepted, perhaps it is cursed in some way, and yon "helpful" inquisitor was merely searching for a dupe to pawn it off on so they would be rid of it themselves. Then again, that is just my own paranoid mind seeking reason were none seems to exist.

Believe it or not, I tried that. I was able to take off the blade and the Tech Priest went to bless it, it then came "alive" and killed him, slit his throat. I managed to call for medical help, but it was too late. Once that all cleared up, over the vox caster in the room I heard, "Don't mess with me."

If its creating chaos spawn while in the hands of an untouchable, then either 1) your GM doesn't understand what untouchables are, or 2) It is such a powerful psyker/chaos creature that it can overcome the warp dead nature of the untouchable (which easily puts it in the greater daemon weight class).

Second part is bang on.

Oookay. Congratulations!

Your inquisitor handed you a major daemonic weapon. By the way, this "slit the throat" and "Voxcaster" thing is outright beautifull.

Dude, you are into serious trouble.
If this weapon really hacks it way back to you every time the two of you are seperated (and all murder will be blamed to you), you are entering a world of murders to be framed for.

As they say in the Ordo Malleus, just because you are schizophrenic, that does not mean that the voices are not daemons tempting you from the path of righteousness, nor that you should hesistate to burn the unworthy.

Thanks, I got the idea from some of the stuff I see you post on the forum.

Well... I managed to get rid of the weapon - at one hell of a cost. I basically murdered two other PC's families. But it's gone now.

No wait....

Apparently, I didn't get rid of it. It's taken me as a symbiote relationship, intergrated itself into my body. Apparently, this Daemon is part technology, since it has stated it's psychic powers are pretty much on the verge of useless against me directly. And yes, it has started talking to me, it made the rather prominent opening of waking me up in the middle of the night and explaining itself to me.

Oh! And how did it sneak past my Inquisitor who told me to get rid of it? Well, it's merged with me now, physically. It just went inside me, as if it is part of my celluar make-up. In other words: I did nothing killing the other PC's families, pretty much a worthless act. On the other hand, it seems like it is a Daemonic version of a Halo device, just lacking all the neat little things like unnatural stats.

Well, for what a Halo Device does, I think this route is quite a bit better than turning completely and utterly insane and killing everything in sight.

Eh, so far so good. "Thomas" seems reasonable so far. However, as they say, trust not the Daemon's lies. We'll see how it plays out.

As I play an Adepta Sororitas, I can only suggest that you surrender to cleansing flame seeking redemption. You are walking the path of a radical and walk towards damnation.

The Sororitas that tried that route got beaten the crap out of, shot, stabbed, yelling vulgar phrases at and mind-cleansed.

It wasn't a pretty scene.

Well, we are prepared to die for our Emperor!

So now you have a daemon that is quasi-possessing you. Most people would burn you to cinders for the mere mention of that. Mind you, it probably wouldn't work and they would all die, but they would try none the less. You're walking a dangerous road and I would try to get rid of the weapon. Not quickly because it seems that you're going to need something really out of the ordinary to get rid of it. You can't just throw it away and greater daemon = super high willpower to resist banishment.

I think you just have to deal for now. It sounds like you'd need an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and a crack squad of Black Priests to cleanse the taint and that's very hard to come by. Something tells me that even ifyou convinced a Magos to give you a cybernetic resurrection either 1. the daemon will come with you and nothing will change, 2. the technological nature of the body will give the daemon more power over you, bad , or 3. said Magos would get cut to pieces.

Just remember, the one thing that all daemons have in common is that they are lies given form. Even truths spoken by the daemon are told with the intent to mislead you.

Man, your Inquisitor is either an idiot or kind of a ****.

Just finished the session and they voted that he's a jerk.
