If you look at the old spoilers of the game, the VSD had two anti squad dice and the Neb B had 3. The cards very well could be inaccurate.

If you look at the armada main page the nebulon card still has 3 blue dice for AS in the picture of the core.
Yeah, so that July release date? Probably not going to happen.....
In fact I think it'd be a miracle if we got anything pre-gencon at this rate
The Wave 2 release is scheduled for July 31st.
There is not a chance we see wave 2 until aug at the shortest amount of time, really it is going to be sept when it comes out.
At a complete loss as to what I'm calling the upcoming third one though
3rd one? When was a 3rd title for already released ships announced? How would FFG distribute a 3rd title for an already released ship without going to an Aces pack?
not third title, third assault frigate
92 points better be a placeholder
hard to justify the VSD - 2 if a mere 7 points more gets you that monster
Actually it is easy to justify it. While the VSD is slower it is smaller thus won't run over everyone, their grandchildren and all the debris. Honestly while the Impstar is a monster I think fighters are going to be it's weakness. (they have to factor in TRD somehow)
This is not X-Wing... A larger ship is not moving faster! You align the maneuver tool with the front of the base so the gained distance stays the same! Also... It has 2 anti squadron dice so it is not as weak against fighters as the VSD. And its faster, has better shielding and armament and more defense tokens. If that is 92 points, VSDII is just good enough to accumulate dust on a shelf!
He never said that the larger base means it moves faster. He did say that the larger base, being larger, will cause it to likely overlap more things. The VSD is slower because from what we've seen on the ISD it maxes out at Speed 3, making the Speed 2 VSD slower.
I have no idea where, from his post, you are getting the idea that he was asserting thar larger bases cause a ship to move further when making a maneuver.
Larger bases move the same distance. They do however extend further back so it feels like it is plodding along.
A Small base fits in between the notches of each speed. So it will go to the 1 spot and be touching the 0 top notch.
A medium base goes further back than the small ship so at speed 2 it's rear is still back there.
Now imagine a large base that moves speed 2 and it's rear is actually behind the 0. While it moved 2 up its center is still far behind.
Large bases are great and powerful bit that is easily countered by great obstacle placement and maneuvering
I haven't seen it hit the forums yet, but the New England FFG Facebook group had some pictures posted with Boba Fett and Jan Ors spoilers:
Boba Fett, 3 Speed, 6 Hull, 4 Blue Anti-squadron, 1 Blue/1Black Anti-ship
When you activate, choose 1 enemy ship or squadron at distance 1. That ship or squadron suffers 1 damage.
Bomber/Rogue [Cost Obscured] 2 Brace
Jan Ors, 3 Speed, 4 Hull, 3 Blue Anti-squadron, 1 Black Anti-ship
While a friendly squadron at distance 1-2 is defending, it can spend your defense tokens.
Counter-2/Intel, 19 Points, 2 Brace
Intel: While an enemy squadron is at distance 1 of you, it has Heavy.
The pictures are not mine, so I didn't re-post them, but I think that is all the new spoilery info?
"While an enemy squadron..."
Implies "While any and all squadrons..."
And not...
"While ONE enemy squadron..."
VERY powerful potential, almost an auto include for bomber lists without the ability to lend a brace - which cannot be blocked by accuracy as the HWK isn't the target - unless a FAQ states that the ability cannot be used on attacks that include accuracy die faces but there I no reason why that should ever happen
Jan Oars could well bring Vader out in style
Vader's been a hard squadron to wrap my head around since he just seems so excessively geared for assassinating high profile targets (and it needs to be high profile given his cost), but there havn't been many high profile targets worth assassinating.
Welp, enter Oars and her braced X-wings ![]()
Boba could also help a bit, as can mauler, and god knows soonts doesn't give two *****

I'm a little confused by what you mean? Certainly she's worth killing, but if she's flying with X-Wings you wont be able to target her.
I wonder which Bounty Hunter will bypass escort? ![]()
I wonder which Bounty Hunter will bypass escort?
Boba Fett does to a point.
Imps now have 3 ships that do direct damage. Mithel, Soontir and Boba. All 3 are fairly easy to use. Soontir works well with escorts, Boba just plain and simple works, and for Mithel you probably want Chiraneau. And that's without factoring in counter, and actual attacks. If imperials invest in anti squadron fighters, Ors is not going to keep them alive. Just what she does is make your X-Wings and YT-1300 very cost effective. If you go ship heavy she can be a good line of defense with X-Wings, and make your ships immune to bombing runs with Gallant Haven for a lot of turns. If you go Rebel Aces you can make one squad with Ors plus Escort and one with Dutch/Wedge. That's a pretty intimidating and versatile fighter force. I think imperial direct damage squadrons still can overcome this, but not for the same price, and that's pretty strong!
Edited by ForceMLooking at the news history, wave 2 was announced in early April whilst X-Wing wave 7 was announced in late April. X-W wave 7 has now just had its first focused preview, and both waves are similar in size (4-5 releases).
Hopefully we should be getting our first focused preview for wave 2 any time around now too ![]()
I am dying for anything right now.
Come on ffg! Just some cards, how about 2 cards? Just 2 upgrade cards that might shake up peoples lists, or a new mechanic, or a ship and some titles.
Just give me something!
And if you don't spoil everything in one release, you can do a slow reliable trickle to really get the forums abuzz hyperanalizing every little thing.
Preview the Raider, if for no other reason than it trolling everyone waiting for the X-Wing Raider! It'll be funny, I promise! ![]()
I am calling the raider has something to make crits do damage to Squadrons.
point defense reroute?
That would be a bit of a waste considering the Raider's anti-squadron dice will either be blue/black or black/black (depending on variant). All PDR would do for a black die is allow you to reroll a hit/crit, which already does a point of damage anyway.
I am disappointed on the lack of evades on the MC80. That means I might not be using one, for my personal commander card is a "Mon Mothma" card with a drawn picture of a officer that looks kinda like me over top of it.
It would be kinda weird for me to change my power at this point in the game.
I'm betting, at least, a title card will make the raider use crits to damage squadrons...it's constantly dubbed as an anti-fighter ship and that would be a pretty groovy title to push that focus.
