Stress clearing and decimator title

By TheRealStarkiller, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Dauntless title card reads:

"After you execute a maneuver that causes you to overlap another ship, you may perform 1 free action. Then receive 1 stress token."

A Decimator with title has stress, flies a green maneuver, overlaps an other ship - does it still get the free action? Or is this treaded like Night Beast?

Night Beasts ability reads:

"After executing a green manoeuvre, you may perform a free focus action."

It was FAQ'ed that when you clear stress, you can't perform the free focus action.

Execute Maneuver
Check Pilot Stress

Perform Action

Night Beast triggers on Execute Maneuver, so if he's stressed he can't perform his free action. Dauntless triggers on impact, which is during Execute Maneuver. This means that if the Dauntless is already stressed it can't perform its free action. However, this means it can perform the action on a red maneuver (at the cost of two stress tokens) which may be part of the reason why the Decimator has no reds by design, and if you perform a green maneuver, crash and trigger Dauntless then the green maneuver will immediately clear the stress.

Cool, thanks

It's just required that you pick a green manoeuvre to clear stress not that you complete it, so you could be blocked several turns and still get the actions as long as you attempt to perform a green move to clear the stress from the previous turn.

So, Oicunn with Dauntless, Daredevil and Engine Upgrade:

If you crunch into an enemy ship with a green, you use the title to perform daredevil to crunch him again, you'll end up with one stress instead of two.

Technically you would receive two but you would clear one for green maneuver.
