Yeah I would like to see the extra crew slot on the Y-Wing...it would make it the ultimate utility ship.
How about the Krayt Fang YT-1300...from Edge of the Empire Beginner Game. Owned by a Trandoshan who surely has a lot of tricks up his sleeves.

But the Y-Wing doesn't do that right now. The Y-Wing gets to make a 2-dice primary attack and then a secondary attack with a weapon that you've paid a turret premium for and is restricted in its range, its damage or both. That is in no way the same thing as getting to make a 3-dice primary attack and then a secondary attack with a Mangler or HLC. That you're proposing to allow the BFG to be bought at a discount on top is... Well, let's just say I'm pretty sure we won't ever see it as an option.
I think the plan is that soon enough every ship will have a title upgrade. Right now the only ships without a title upgrade are:
That being said more options for a customizable game is better but also having more options doesn't always mean more diversity. The only ship with options between titles is the Firespray-31 and we don't need more titles that are technically auto-include such as the Royal Guard TIE or the IG-2000.
When looking at titles I think the BTL-A4 has done it right with giving an amazing ability but comes at a trade off. That trade off could be points or it could be something that takes something away to where an upgrade is more of a side-grade.
In conclusion I would like to have more titles options so that my only choice is something other than to equip title or not. Still I am willing to wait for better designed titles instead of a 0 cost upgrade that will be included with every ship.

they are indeed overcosted thats why this missle upgrade reduces cannon weapons by 2 which is for every cannon. it just allows you to shoot with the cannon after a primary attack as long its not a mangler or HLC.

Take an over-costed ship, throw on a 7 point upgrade, and the cost is very high. That's all that I meant.
As for not doing a double-tap with a Mangler or HLC, the Defender is, what, 3 points too expensive? All except Vessery, IIRC.
Take Rexler. For a bare minimum of 44 points, you get a PS8 ship capable of making two attacks against the same target (note that restriction, which the Y-Wing title does not impose). Considering that he's essentially half your list, and is incapable of going "fat" like the large base ships, I don't see the problem.
Now consider the Delta, the cheapest generic. My proposed title (less the optional point reduction, since this discussion assumes that the double-tap ability is too valuable) on a Delta gives you a PS1 ship with a HLC at 37 points. You can take at most 2 in a typical 100-point build. You could switch to Manglers, for a total of 34 points each, but you're still stuck with only 2 of them. You could run triple Deltas with Ion or Flechette Cannons, but I don't see that as anywhere near game-breaking even with double-taps all around.
Of course, throwing on the -2 points changes things significantly, most especially by bringing the Mangler Delta down to 32 points, allowing you to run three of them. This, I admit, could be a potential issue in tournament play, though it'd have the most impact against "fat" lists that don't like concentrated fire or reliable critical hits (which this list would offer both).
Given the restriction of having to shoot the same target with the second shot, for most ships you're looking at a lot of wasted dice, assuming the opportunity isn't lost outright due to a kill on the first shot. It's only when you start getting into things like B's and Y's and YTs that the double-tap really starts to shine, and personally I think that's pretty much exactly how it should be.

well thanks, but i think its only one half of the medal. the new twin ion engine modification may to something good to the defender but iam still in pain of giving up a possible engine upgrade on the defender. so we need at least another titel to let it benefit from anything else. also i think the absence of an evade action hurts the defender really hard
I just started to reread the original "X-Wing - rouge squadron book" and there was some thin in cheaper 6 or 7 that would make for 2 great cards (not title). Wedge asks what distance his lasers are zeroed at, that would lead to 2 cards
defender doesn't get an green extra dice at range 3. But you also loose your extra red dice at range 1
defender looses 1 green dice at range 1, but defender gets an extra (2 instead of the normal 1) green dice at range 3
these cards only affect primary weapons and would only cost 1 or 2 points
