If you have a cr90 with both Dodonna's pride and overload pulse and you roll a blue crit can you deal and face up damage and exhaust all of the defenders defense tokens or does Dodonna's pride cancel the overload pulse?

You can only resolve a single critical effect on an attack, so Overload Pulse and Dodona's Pride are mutually exclusive.

...at least the effects of it. Of course you can have a CR90 with Pulse and Pride, but only one effect per attack is working. You can decide after the attack, which one you want to use.

And i gotta say, I don't feel they work well together at all. Overload pulse is good when you have multiple ships (or squadrons), and something is good to come in after the overload pulse to finish it off the target (or even force them to discard exhausted defense tokens). Dodonna's Pride on the other hand pretty much doesn't care about defense tokens (except in that it doesn't want a crit effect die canceled or re-rolled). Basically what use is using Overload pulse to open up a target, if the next ship coming in was just gonna deal -only- 1 damage.

The way I was looking at it with taking both since I could only use one or the other was to lead with the cr90 with a assault frigate coming in behind it. If I got a blue crit I could use overload pulse to knock out defense tokens then let the assault frigate deal out damage. If the assault frigate wasn't in good position to take advantage of the tokens being down then the cr90 would use Dodonna's pride instead

Seems like a lot of points for the contingency. I'd recommend just using a second Corvette. Get the use out of both of them.

Hit them with Overload, then crit them.

Overload and then a crit from Dodonna doesn't really synergize anyways. With Dodonna you're going to get the crit regardless of whether or not their defense tokens are exhausted. These two effects aren't a very good combo in any way you utilize them.

I'm not saying this is the combo to beat all other combos, just saying if you want to use both, that would be the way to do it.
