Sarcon's Repaints

By Sarcon, in X-Wing

Hey guys, first post here and new to X-Wing. I am coming from Warhammer Fantasy, but I don't really have the time to build and paint THAT many models anymore. So this is my first attempt at X-Wing, and a first time in a few years to pick up a brush again.

So I bought my first few models now. I really wanted to have a Millenium Falcon in my collection. All that I did was shade and weather the original paintjob, and add a bit more detail. Overall I was done quite fast, and the results really aren't too bad. I shot a few pics with my phone, let me know what you think!

A few more tweeks on my Empire ships. These are still a bit WIP, any ideas on what to improve? The freehand is a bit oval, but for tabletop I am satisfied!

Let me know what you think or what I could improve!

They look great!

For the circle on the TIE panels, you could use a compass to draw the circle lightly with pencil, then it all comes down to brushwork over a precisely drawn circle.

I can see what you were aiming for, all those small dots all over the hull is supposed to be damage, chips and scratches, right? If so let me recommend a better method, sponge chipping. I recommended this to Lansing just a few days ago, so I'll just cut and paste from that thread:

"A better and simpler method for the wear and tear is sponge chipping. You take a piece of foam/sponge, load up an edge of it with some paint and lightly dab it against your model. This leaves small spots of paint that very much look liked chipped and scratched areas. Below is a picture of a WWII Tiger tank turret where the technique has been used to good effect and I've also included a video tutorial, though do beware that the music in the video is rather cheesy. :)"
