If you Mesmerism/Sorceress the Mercenary, do you have to pay 1G to take him as Follower? If Dungeon Keeper has Mercenary, you have to pay 2G (1G for DK, 1G for Mercenary)?

I think this was a FAQ from the BI forum. You have to pay the Mercenary whenever you take it. It works the same with Mesmerism, Sorceress and now Dungeon Keeper & Cell I guess.

I agree with you both..
It makes sense somehow.
The mercenary only works for the person willing to pay him.
If you pick him up from the cell, he does not join you for free, nor if you mesmerize him.
He cannot be fooled and will always thinks about GOLD
That would be indeed 2 gold, if you buy him from the dungeon keeper..
There is enough gold in the game is it..
