Are Stores All Sold Out of Armada By Now?

By Corellian Corvette, in Star Wars: Armada

How long does it take for stores to sell out of X-wing waves? Or is that a bad comparison?

One of my 2 local game stores (their is a third, but it is mainly comic oriented and carried only the core set) only has 1 of everything left, except for the Assault Frigates and Victories. They sold out on those.

When do you think restocking will come out, or will we need to rely on online retailers? How soon till you think some ships might end up like the falcon or Y-wing? (went for like 6 months of 'out of stock').

So yeah, how much stuff has your LGS sold, and do you think that this means Armada is a smashing success?

I would be interested in some numbers :)

My FLGS still has a mountain of Armada. I think the Imperial Fighter Expansion is the only thing they've sold out of.

My LGS back home doesn't really sell TOO much of either game, because I'm their main consumer of SW goodies and I've been away lately. So they've still got everything in stock, and I plan to remedy that within a couple weeks.

my LGS sold out and is restocking today/tomorrow. the game is growing every week in our meta though.

Well our area has the FFG Game Center so I don't think anyone locally is sold out. Game seems to be growing fairly well. Had 14 people at our initial 180pt tournament and have a 300pt tournament next Tuesday.

I saw what came in last Friday and what was still on the shelf yesterday and I only saw 1 assault frigate missing from the shelf.

My LGS still has it. Including Star Spuds and fighters. Dont know if you're in the Bay Area though...

My FLGS stores got wiped out of stock. They still have a few left of the ships but the squadrons got gobbled up but they are expecting a new shipment tomorrow.

In seattle, all the FLGS I've been through have plenty of stock. In regards to X-wing, they have stock of most things, though some blisters are sold out. I was in my local B&N, looking to see if they too were stocking Armada (they don't), I saw was a mountain of X-wing blisters/boxes.

My LGS sold out of everything Saturday, but we had an X-wing Regional so lots of extra buyers.

Others in the area have some stick left.

Two things to remember about X-wing though. It's initial production runs for Wave 1 and Wave 2 were very small because FFG was unsure of how well it would sell. Now they seem a bit more comfortable and able to take that risk of producing more product of the bat.

Also for X-wing you have people buying for skew lists that require 5-8 types of a single fighter. I don't think you get that with Armada.

My FLGS sold out of everything on the initial order just filling pre-orders. They got a restock on Friday and (last I was there) still had a few of each left. They are running a Tourney on the 30th and I think that will push another sell-out. Overall, I think Armada is crushing it. I live in a small community (central Iowa) and we have a large growing group of players.

This is a great point. I think this is a key reason why stock seems to be doing so well. I was considering a third Assault Frigate, but once Wave two hits I don't feel like I would play triple Orcas with the additional variation available. Also, I really like the flexibility of a CR90 with Leia or a Salvation Neb-B added onto a dual-whale list. I'm sure there will be the Corvette and Raider swarms, but one thing that I like about Armada is that I don't feel a need to have more than two of any one ship.

I was initially concerned about fighter packs as I was building 6 A-wing lists or TIE bomber absurdity, but I think FFG has prepared appropriately for the need for many of these with only two of each variety in the pack.

The slightly higher cost than X-wing may also be contributing, but it feels like stock is holding nicely, and I am actually pretty impressed by the availability despite seemingly high sales. I hope it keeps up into and through wave two. I'm holding off on ISD/MC80 preorders until we know point costs, and based on wave one availability I feel really good about that.

My own LGS sold half of its order before even hitting the shelves. I think he ordered enough of everything to last some time however. Which is great because I couldn't get people into X-wing because you couldn't get half of it.

My shop probably had half thier order slotted for pre-orders but still had enough for 6+ of each item on the shelf.

My closest LGS sold out of everything that was new. So basically, the only thing they have left are VSDs, Nebulon Bs, and Corvettes.

Fortunately, I ordered my Wave 1 stuff online and I have a TON of other LGSes in town to shop from if I need additional ships.

My LGS has a dice pack and no apparent plans to stock Armada ever, despite the fact that there are about 5-6 of us who play. On an interesting side note, I was at the store's location about 45 minutes away and they have everything except the core set, so I bought a Gladiator and Imperial Squadron Pack. Stock your shelves with product and we will buy it!

Same thing in my neck of the woods. The long lead time before wave 1 happened gave plenty of people time to digest how important fighter squadrons are to their strategies, so they bought them in droves.

(I got two myself, my roommate got two as well)

Around my area, a couple FLGSs have a mix of stock. I picked up the last Gladiator at one, and the last AFII at the other. So it's not empty, but they didn't have enough of everything to stay on the shelf. Hoping in the next couple weeks to join in at one of their miniature's night to see if there are any other Armada players who want a pick up game.

After stopping in tonight, my FLGS is pretty much wiped out of stock :). It is a small store though so he usually only keeps 1-2 of anything on the shelf after the initial release of any line. Preorders don't make it to the shelf.

I haven't checked all my local stores yet but the big store is down to the Frigate and CR90.

It is selling really well from what I've seen. And our local Facebook group is growing everyday.

I suspect the more Gamer popular areas like mine will be sold out completely (The distributor level) by mid June at this rate. We'll have to see how much FFG prepared for this release by ordering enough production of the first run for the summer.

Last I checked, the LGS at town had sold out their GSD and RAF. O was lucky to get the last few RAF set.

I bought literally everything Armada that came off the truck for my FLGS, literally 10 minutes after the truck parked. So they were out of stock before they got it stocked.

Might add that my LGS staff has word that Wave 2 is set for July. However, this being FFG we're dealing with, they of course consider that a flimsy projection at best.

Point of interest, the official FFG store apparently went from "not released yet" to "out of stock" in a matter of hours.
