Rule Question Final Battle

By F5Q9A3, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hello all me and some friends started with arkham and at the moment i'm a little bit confused about the final battle and hope you can help me.

Lets make an easy example with a 3 player Game where the Investigators attack:

Player A has 1 success , Player B has 3 and Player C has 4

Together they have 8 success what would mean they remove 2 doom tokens. What happend now with the rest?

A) they ignore the other 2 success and start the next Round with 0 success

or

B) they take over this 2 success into the next Round and start this Round already with 2 success

In the Core rulebook it is writen they have to reset the success to 0 but now i saw that in the Dunwish FAQ is writen that they take over this successes into the next Round so i'm a little bit confused specialy that somebody who would not have this Expansion would play this Final Battle complete different then it maybe should be.

Thank you already for your help.

Hi, and welcome :)

Sorry for the confusion on how final battle works. You're not the first one asking, you won't be the last one, the rulebook is really badly worded. Basically, to win final battle you need to score N successes, where

N = D*I

with D = max doom on the doom track

and I = number of investigators

so, if you're playing Hastur with 3 investigators, you need to score 39 successes total. Period.

Hope this helps!
