If I have Ysanne Isard aboard a firespray, and I have no shields and one damage. Can I get two evades a turn?
Question about Firespray and Ysanne Isard
You may never take the same action twice a round, so no.
No. Ysanne provides a free evade ACTION. You can only perform the same action once per round. This is why she doesn't work if the ship is stressed.
It also means you can use her to proc Push the Limit / Experimental Interface.
Hmm. Is isard worth it over recon spec? Since it only procs at half health: -4 shields and -1 hull. 5 hull left.
Whereas recon spec provides some good defense utility from the beginning.
It also means you can use her to proc Push the Limit / Experimental Interface.
You can use her to trigger push and EI, she doesn't proc anything

You obviously dont understand that terminology then. He used that perfectly fine.
proc is short for programed random occurrence, what is random about using ptl off of ysanne?
nothing
Since we do not all share a common lexicon for contractions and acronyms, let us endeavor to use clear speech, full words, and direct and simplified language. Part of what makes reading the forums so taxing is the over use of acronyms, slang terms, and word contractions- real or made up. If I never see the letters "OP" again, it will be too soon.
What if it was for On Point, meow or for Outpost, maybe Original Pringles meow...or Orange Popsicles, just saying meow ![]()

The bloody hell is a programmed random occurrence?

This is only one of the possible definitions, and not the oldest use of this slang term. Using it as a synonym of trigger is very common. Attempting to rigidly define slang only ends in frustration.
I'd never even heard the term "proc" until a couple weeks ago, then it started showing up constantly on this forum and I had to look it up.
It does seem like a pretty unintuitive term.
Anyway, to the OP (sorry specpol), Isaard allows you to perform an evade action, you can only perform a given action once per round, so you cannot evade as the firesprays action and then evade again with Isaard.
Edited by ForgottenloreI always thought PROC was short for "process" on this instance.

It's the most widely known and used definition by a huge margin, even if the majority of people that use it don't actually know or understand the definition. Popular use of "proc" basically comes from MMORPG players who use it to mean an event being triggered by another event, e.g. a weapon has a 30% chance to trigger a special effect when it hits the enemy, therefore it has a proc rate of 30%. It's not terribly useful for X-Wing since the majority of effects are "may" triggers, therefore the player has the choice of whether they take effect or not rather than it being random chance. The only things that really suit "proc" would be those effects that require a dice roll to determine whether the effect happens or not, such as R5-K6. Even then, it's probably best to leave that particular piece of terminology to the WoW players.
Cool discussion, guys.
Cool discussion, guys.
The actual discussion about evade actions or the OT discussion about the definition of "proc"?
Stop trying to make "fetch" a thing. Unnecessary jargon just makes it harder for people to participate in the discussion.
As far as the OT, Ysanne is not that great on a Firespray. Because you don't trigger it until you are at 5 hull or less, you would be very lucky to get more than 2 activations out of it, and will often get 1 because you started the round with 6 hull and then took a bunch of damage. Meaning you're basically paying 4 points for 1-2 shields. You're better off bringing Recon Spec, Engine Upgrade or a Proximity mine. Recon Spec will probably prevent just as much damage as Ysanne would, and Engine or Prox mine will allow your Firespray to deal more damage.
I just like that the initials OT were use in back to back posts as antonyms (both as off topic and original topic)
Ok, the question has been answered... move along...
These aren't the droid your looking for!
