Clearly there is one conclusion left to draw from this: FFG is printing a Raider for every man, woman and child on this planet.

Or they bought one of the 3-d printers I was looking at that takes two days to make a 28mm model.

At the pace they are moving, they are going to have to take population growth into account. The final print run will be somewhere around 49 billion units.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Raider and the TIE advanced fix affects the wave 10 meta

I've moved from wishing the advanced fix came as a stand-alone because I don't play epic to wishing the advanced fix came as a stand-alone so it would come out at some point.

It is just that the new Tie Advanced are sooo good, We'll need plasma torpedoes to deal with them.

I'm still thinking that its in a warehouse, ready to go for when tournament season is passed so it doesn't rock the meta as regionals are going on.

And I suspect that the Raider is already on the boat but they don't want to get our hopes up in case of more dock delays. Then it will show up out of the blue and there will be much rejoicing.

As long as they sell stuff and people are generally happy enough that they go and buy more stuff, life is good... from their perspective.

Don't really see where they would give a "hoot" what that does to the current meta or what the new meta becomes.

Unless they could guaranty that it's available everywhere at the same time then releasing something that could have a big impact during the regional tourneys, would not be good for business.

They could of course just make the contents the the raider box not tourney legal but then you will get people say that if its the shelf why is it not legal, or QQ i didn't know etc...

Well it shows that they are still updating things. Rumors are that there was some sort of problem with the Raider. Boy it is hard to believe it's been 6 months since we've seen that thing initially in their preview article! Something isn't right here. I have a bad feeling about this.

I think that it might be a nice explanation with the meta thing. It's generally bad business when you release something halfway through official tournament period because it might suddenly shake the meta. What if, for example, a list with the Advanced would suddenly start winning pretty hard? Every imperial player who already played his match would literally be stripped off the option to be able to field it in his games while others could play it.

Terrible idea in my opinion. There are no new sets of Magic: The Gathering in the middle of championships, nor should be in X-Wing - let people compete with their current model base and have the meta change AFTER the tournament season so it would appear on the next championships, not suddenly in the middle of actual ones.

FFG care about their tournament scene but they aren't going to delay things for their overwhelming majority of non-tournament players to make a slight improvement (and even that's subjective) for the minority.
