Hi guys and girls,
there have been many threads about partial points, why fat turrets are a problem, etc. There are many proposals for changes on the scoring system, as well as "nerfs" for turreted ships. (At least primary turreted ships)
So here is my idea how to change the scoring system which might help also when not playing turreted ships:
After the end of the game, if you have destroyed all enemy ships, you win as normal. When at the end of the round you and your opponent both have ships on the board, the TO has to decide how the game ended. Basically, he decides who would have won the game, when you played it till the end. If he can't say who'll win for certain, it'll be a draw. When both players have Corran with R2D2 left, that might be a perfect example of a draw.
For MoV consideration, the TO would then decide which ships count for the computation. The TO could say that Han with one hull point left does not count, because your opponents two full health B-Wings point in the right direction and would have killed him in the next round.
The MoV would then be computed as normal, with the exception that ships the TO did not count, give full points to the opponent.
I hope this is not too counfusing and you understand what I mean. The short version would be: At the end of a round, the TO looks at the current state of the game and can declare ships destroyed; then, MoV is calculated as normal.
Would that be feasible? Would you accept such a ruling? Does it make things even worse? Would you like to be a TO with this ruling?
Thanks for reading the longer post. I'm looking forward to read you replys.
