Dream cards...

By StarWarsDad1138, in X-Wing

Basically, if you were a game designer, what upgrade (not ship) would you want in the game?

For me, Imperial Guardsman crew, out Imperial Guard team. Effect would be manipulating enemy crew or possibly a situational Vader effect.

Dark Curse's pilot ability as a 6-point EPT.

A 1 point modification for TIE ships which made their banks green. I'd call it Twin Ion Engine Something.

A card that gave me an attack bonus for accurately aligning my forward-facing fixed cannons on a target directly in front of me on a line as opposed to catching my enemy in a 90 degree arc.

I don't like the idea of cards that mess with your opponent's upgrades. One of the things I didn't like in ST:AW.

If I was a designer, though? I'd make Uglies. All of them. Every possible variation I can find or think of.

EPT: Cool Under Fire
At the start of the combat phase, you may remove one token from your ship.
4 points.

EPT: Cool Under Fire

4 points.

Wait... any token? Stress, TL, Ion, Focus, Evade, Weapons Disabled, etc?

I would like a title that gives X-wings some durability. Something like reinforce on huge ships, but not quite as good and without using their action.

Veteran Co-Pilot. Crew Member. 1 Point.

Your upgrade bar gains the EPT upgrade icon.

You cannot equip this upgrade if you already have a EPT upgrade icon or if your pilot skill value is "3" or lowe
r.

Barrel rolling Shuttles. I need them.

Would love some way to rejigger X-wings (and maybe other ships like Defender) by applying different cannon patterns and/or shields.

Quad-link: Extra firepower against targets with less than 2 agility.

Stutter-fire: Extra firepower against targets with more than 2 agility.

Could do the same with shields

Double-Front: Extra defense against targets in arc

Stabilize-Rear: Extra defense against targets outside arc

At the start of combat you may choose to reduce your primary attack value by one to increase your agility by one until the end of the turn.

Adjust the numbers as need be, but seems like an interesting thing I think.

On Luke with Lone Wolf and R2-D2 that would be solid. Most other X's wouldn't give up their primary except in very dire circumstances(which they inevitably wouldn't survive anyways).

'Same modification name/cost as above'

At the start of combat, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll action. If you do, reduce your primary weapon value by one until the end of the turn

I'm not sure what a Weapons Disabled token is, but yes, a Stress, Red Target Lock, Ion.

a cool illicit upgrade would be:

Over Charge = Discard this card to add up to 3 attack dice to your attack. For each die added roll an attack die against yourself, suffer any hits or critical hits rolled.

elite pilot upgrade:

Force Sensitive = Allows you to choose 1 Force ability upgrade (new upgrade card)

Force ability upgrades:

Effect mind= Receive 1 stress token, choose an 1 enemy ship at range 1. That ship cannot attack this combat phase.

Battle meditation= You may reroll up to 2 attack and defense die each time you roll

R4 Agromech as Rebel Crew.

Hwk's with blaster turrets need a leg-up, yo!

I've played with building ships for the prequels and TCW. Force Ability was something I was also considering.

That said, that first one is BS. Reduce their attack, maybe. Increase the defender of their attacks defense, maybe. Kill their attack outright? Woah. That's nuts.

Battle Meditation is straight up better than Predator. Should be a bit different somehow.

Also purely better than lone wolf with seemingly none of the downside (unique, must be range 3 of allies). The first one is bloody insane, take it on keyan farlander to become a minor deity.

Gamorrean crew. (they are the green guys with axes in Jabba's palace.)

Don't think they would do anything useful because using an axe in space seems inefficient, but I still want one.

1 pt. At the beginning of the activation phase roll 6 red dice as you grunt at your opponent. If you roll at least 6 (crit) results, chose one enemy ship to be terrified. That ship must change his maneuver to one that heads toward the nearest board edge at the fastest possible speed.

I think it would be balanced to destroy the ship with those odds.

Next Generation Cannons:

When you make an attack with a primary weapon or an equipped cannon you may reduce both your primary attack value and equipped cannon's attack value by one. If you do you may add both values together when you attack. Apply any additional effects of equipped cannon to this attack.

3pt Modification.

TIE/EW Package

You may not equip secondary weapons.

Enemy ships may not acquire target locks on friendly ships at range 1-2 of you.

Friendly ships may measure from your base when acquiring target locks.

You may measure distances during the end phase using the range ruler or any one movement template.

Torpeedo + Missile upgrade. Tie bomber/punisher only.

6 pts.

Battlelust:

Each time you preform an attack that destroys an enemy ship your pilot skill increases by one for the rest of the game.

Pilot Talent. 1 point.

That's actually a pretty cool idea.

Not sure how you could effectively word it, but any enemy ship's base that is directly in front of you within the boundaries of your ship's base gains you one attack die.

Obviously this would need to be tweaked for large base ships. They're already beefy enough.

Something that lets you re-roll or spend focus tokens on rolls outside of combat (like rolls needed to flip certain crits over or C-3PO's ability).
