I've been keeping an eye on this game, and will probably buy into it this fall with the FFG takeover and new stuff coming out.

Now, I've done my homework, skimming through the rule book, looking at all the characters and tokens. But I've been stumped on the match-up between the Reich and the Matriarch.

Now, the Union can handle Zor' Ka, I think. Smoke Grenades work, even if auto-wounds don't, and Barry's gun can kill with a natural 9. Then, there's the Teletypwriter to refuse her the Mental pack, although I read somewhere about Irina's Winter Pack negating teletypwriter, but I can't find it again.

But what can the Reich do? Zor' Ka's too strong to Sha-na-ra, and Eye of Horus is useless against her mental pack, and no smoke grenades. Does it come down to just shooting her with Doom or getting up in her face?

I recall the Union won the Black Sail campaign, with the Matriarchy coming in last, so obviously the Reich won some match-ups. How did they do it? Is it a game-play thing I can see just by the cards/tokens? Or am I just completely missing something?

The Reich likely killed everyone else so no one could heal Zor'Ka. Mad minute and keep firing probably took a chunk out of her too.

Brown's flashgun has a natural-10 ability and the battery extends the ability to 9. So if legendary characters are immune to natural-10 abilities it won't matter what kind of bonus you get. Just remember it still counts as a hit.
