need a hand resolving a rules conundrum as to wether or not Rexler Brath's Pilot ability trigger's Chewbacca's Pilot abillity

so first of all let me outline each pilot's ability

Chewbacca- 'When you are dealt a faceup Damage card, Immediately flip it facedown (without resolving its ability)


Rexler Brath- 'After you perform an attack that deals at least 1 Damage card to the defender, you may spend a focus token to flip those cards face up'

the question here is which ability wins out in a case where Rexler Brath is attacking Chewbacca. Under normal circumstances Chewie is not affected by normal crits. HOWEVER chewie CAN be affected by the saboteur card which reads as follows

Saboteur- 'Action: Chose one enemy ship at range 1 and roll one attack die. On a {hit} or {crit} result, chose one random facedown Damage card assigned to that ship, flip it face up, and resolve it.'

my interpretation is the following.

Rexler executes the attack> hits are tallied> evade dice and tokens are spent to mitigate>any (non critical) damage is then dealt facedown>any critical damage cards are ignored and turned facedown by chewbacca's ability> rexler spends focus token>any damage cards dealt in the attack are now turned face up

my reasoning for this is based on 2 points of wording.
1. chewie's card reads 'When you are DEALT A FACEUP DAMAGE CARD'
2. Rexler's card reads 'AFTER you perform an attack'
I take this to mean that Rexler's ability is triggered after the attack has been resolved and cards have been dealt to chewie face down, and furthermore as the cards have already been dealt to chewie face down and subsequently flipped over Chewie's abillity does not trigger as it only activates when the cards are DEALT faceup and not flipped after having been dealt.

if anyone has a more formal ruling or any advice as to wether or not this interpretation is correct it would be gladly appreciated

Brath's ability flips them face up after the attack has been resolved and cards have been dealt

Yes, Brath's ability cannot be affected by Chewie's.

Brath wins this fight as he's not inflicting critical hits but flipping cards once all modifications are done.

How about the Vader upgrade used on a friendly within Range 1 vs Chewie with Draw Their Fire?

Draw Their Fire cannot shift the damage from Vader. Vader is not an attack.
