Nature's Ire Questions

By tholder40, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So I picked up both Nature's Ire and Forgotten Souls. Don't want to crack open FS until I beat NI. Anyhow, I've played NI 3 times now, twice solo and once with my bro. Both times we used only two heroes not counting Desmond. So far I love it. Very challenging. It's not the type of one session questing you can one shot believe me. It's tough. I've gotten my ass kicked all 3 times but I enjoy challenging games. There's a question though that keeps coming up and I need help figuring it out.

The first is with the Peril Card that reads "Stand together! Beware the darkness!" Effect: Each hero suffers 1 fatigue equal to the number of movement points that would be required to move into a space adjacent to the closest hero. If a hero's path would be blocked or he otherwise could not move adjacent to the closest hero, he is stunned. Does this happen once for everyone and then gets discarded or is it ongoing?

It seems like unless the card says "stays in play until it is discarded" all peril effects trigger once and get discarded. Is this right?

Basically it's telling you that it triggers for each hero separately and then is discarded. So if any of your heroes are actually in a space adjacent to another hero there is no effect. If they are not, then that hero has to measure the amount of spaces that he would have to move in order to stand on an adjacent space and that is the amount of fatigue that particular hero would suffer. if there is no path at all that he could possibly use to enter a space adjacent to the closest hero, then he is Stunned.

And yes, some Peril cards have conditions that you have to meet in order to discard it.

Also: Yes they are very challenging.
